chmith27, I think your negative opinions of Al Mann & MNKD management are absurd and would only be best appreciated on the other unnamed board. "Massive dilutions" "misleading," "misunderstanding," and "obvious blunders." Point blank: NO! There are numerous posters here who would participate in the other forum as well if not for the childish, tiresome, repetitive bashing and unwarranted constant criticism of managment. That is a FACT. I'm one of them, and I'm 100% certain I'm not alone.
Al Mann doesn't make mistakes, he makes well thought out calculated decisions based on all available information. He has a genius IQ and a billion $ of his hard earned cash in this enterprise. One that you should thank your lucky stars you have been afforded an opportunity to participate in. Yet you come across as an ungrateful spoiled child who doesn't always get exactly what he wants exactly when he wants it. How could Al own around 40% of the company and not do everything he could to help advance the cause in the best way he knows how?!
MNKD still exists solely because of the unmatched financial backing of Al Mann. PERIOD! No CEO in the history of the world has ever commited so much ca$h to a one product start up company. Al is the biggest common shareholder by orders of magnitude and as such has done everything he can to minimize shareholder dilution 100% of the time, even at times by offering hundred million dollar loans from his own bank account. Without Al the company would have folded long ago and you'd have the NOTHING you deserve to have (in my opinion)!
You should do some research before you spout off. Regarding the change in inhalers from MedTone to Dreamboat: are you aware that the old MedTone device was not approveable in the existing format and was never going to be commercialized by MannKind due to many reasons: it had to be broken apart cleaned and dried and reassembled, had durability issues, you couldn't label the different dose strength AFREZZA cartridge sizes to FDA satisfaction, you had to inhale more than one time to deliver the dose from each cartridge, it used significantly more Technosphere insulin powder to deliver the same dose into the patients lungs which would hurt profit margins, it was bulkier and less convenient, it would confuse the market to bring one device to market and then quickly turn around with an entirely different inhaler, the old MedTone was much more complicated and had many more steps required to deliver each dose, etc... Once the dramatically superior Dreamboat inhaler was invented it was a no brainer to make the switch exactly when management did, and they were even encouraged by the FDA to do so (but keep in mind the FDA has many different divisions interfacing with MNKD and sometimes, especially with the government, the "left hand doesn't talk to the right hand."
Just how close this strategy came to bearing fruit is evidenced by the conviction of former FDA chemist Cheng Yi Liang. Do some research and you might learn a thing or two. Liang was correct on his insider trading 26 out of 27 times. The only time he was wrong was MNKD. This shows that MNKD was on the verge of approval for AFREZZA, and there was clear inside information to that effect within the FDA. How could MNKD have been on the verge of approval if they made such an "obvious strategic blunder." Right, they couldn't have, and you don't have a clue what you are talking about!
People who strongly support the company (which we own part of) and the excellent and tireless work of management are participating in a "circle jerk" according to you? Don't let the door hit you on the way out pal!

I'd just like to remind people that the purpose of this board is not to bash or pump the "other" board. I'm actually quite neutral on the topic, but it's a lot of wasted space to discuss it here.
I'd also like to remind people to watch the personal attacks when posting here. We don't want to devolve into the YMB.
This thread has strayed quite a ways from the original topic. Let's try and stay focused.
These comments are not directed at any one poster; I've been following the thread for a couple of days now - hoping it would just drop off the radar.
Thanks!

Not to add fuel to the fire but what is a 'circle je__' anyway? If it is what I think it is ProBoard posters should have reason to feel uncomfortable about his description of our association of, on the average, reasonably polite and respectful posters. Some of our members will also undoubtedly, and happily I am certain, feel excluded from this colorful but adolescent metaphor... Urban Dictionaries: www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=circle+jerkIf the intended definition was as define above I hope the user of said terminology has better bedside manners then with fellow Mannkind investors. Sometimes we use words without thinking of what they really mean. I will think this lapse in judgement as being one such situation. JPG

People have differing opinions and that's fine as long as everyone holds civility and shows respect. If you impose your beliefs onto someone it's only a matter of time before things escalate.
I think it's best if we move on collectively... Both sides have said their piece and now it's just Ch getting hounded at this point - which isn't warranted.
Back to the topic: It certainly helps that Dr. James Shannon was once with MNKD as a director and now holds a position of power in GSK. It helps that many companies are looking to acquire or partner with corporations nowadays rather than do there own R&D especially since with rising costs and more difficult barriers over the years. A new drug typically costs a set company over 1 B when it's all said and done due to all the clinical trials and what not.
Many believe a partnership will happen within 6-8 weeks so time may tell shortly if the majority is correct.
**** Moderators: May I request a lock on this thread?
