from today's release " ... Tourbillon Capital Partners wrote in a letter to investors obtained by CNBC.com. Tourbillon manages $1.2 billion and is led by former SAC Capital Advisors portfolio manager Jason Karp..." Jason Karp used to work for SAC, Steven A Cohen's Hedge fund firm. It was the biggest short fund out there. Ultimately their dirty tactics got them in trouble with the SEC but not before Steve Cohen made many many $ billions. Apparently Jason Karp learned a lot from his former boss. Real Scum of the earth. They will do anything for a buck. YOU GOT IT. THIS WAS A HACK JOB AND IT'S SAD THAT THE SEC DOES NOT HAVE THE BALLS TO GO AFTER IT.

by now, I have developed super thick skin not to even bother about these junk articles that "look" like from "genuine" sources covered by "genuine" media but they are nothing but a junk bear raid efforts. CNBC article was not even worth a read if you really know this company and the current stage at which we are.

Jason Krap is betting on the fact that Afrezza is Exubera and that MNKD's management is stupid enough to follow in the same footsteps as Pfizer. That's not a smart move if you ask me and shows he really didn't do any research at all. If he had, he would have known that MNKD isn't a one trick pony with Afrezza. We have no idea if and what any other indications Technosphere is being used or will be used in the near future. We were given a hint that the migraine indication is something that might hit soon. This is more Wall Street manipulation at its finest. I know some of you think MNKD can just hit back but they can't. Sorry but it looks like that's a way down the road... MannKind Corporation (MNKD) Considers Entering Pain Management Market May 06, 2014 MannKind Corporation (MNKD) COO Hakan Edstrom says his company is “looking closely” at expansion opportunities in the pain management market. “If you get the medication into the bloodstream very quickly, you also have a relief of the pain much, much quicker. There are also nonopioid opportunities, where you may even be able to treat patients for their pain without having the risk of them getting into situations where they are dependent on the drug itself because of the side effects,” Edstrom says. “That’s one area that we are looking into right now, and there are some others that I, unfortunately for proprietary reasons, cannot necessarily speak on at this point in time.” FOR MORE INFORMATION ON THIS INTERVIEW CLICK HERE. Edstrom says MannKind is still in the preclinical phase of its pain management research. He says the company has conducted feasibility studies, but not yet moved on to subsequent phases of research.
“We have had to manage our resources because AFREZZA has been such a major undertaking for the company,” Edstrom says. “We’ve had to be a little bit more conservative in the investment in other areas until we feel that we have a successful product on the market and a partnership, which is what we’re looking to with AFREZZA.” www.twst.com/news/1398-mannkind-corporation-mnkd-considers-entering-pain-management#

There are 3 factors to that Article that are interesting and a bit concerning.
1. Found it interesting thathis Boss said " NO COMMENT"! Not exactly a ringing endorsement for the article. 2. Has our media really gotten this bad? ( My concern) Has anyone ever seen such a ridiculous statement carried in such a fashion on a major News Network? Have never been a big fan of MNBC, but to air a predction of any stock dropping 90% is a joke! I won't waste time arguing the article as others have already done it. 3. The way the story was reported, Can anyone say with 100% certainty that Matt's comment where in response to the article or were they pulled from earlier statements? It reallly isn't clear to me. And if I may offer one more thought. Too many people want the company to say something, even give a date. Lets say they say by August 1st. Well that just made my offer go down as I know MNKD will look pretty stupid if they don't deliver by that date. This isn't Al's 1st Rodeo. No matter what the final deal is, I can promise he sqeezed out the best deal possible. And in my opinion, we will be happy!

Daduke38,
#3 on your list is the exact thing that has been bugging me, since the day that article came out. I'm almost positive that I heard Matt give that response at one of the conferences, earlier this year. The article seems wordsmith-ed to imply that he said that in response to Karp's accusations - I don't believe it was. However, I can't find any of the transcripts from the conferences, to validate my theory. Just my $0.02.

Same exact comment here re point #3, that was my first question when I heard about this stupidity; I would love it at some point if we could get Matt to confirm that he was not interviewed in connection with the slime job, and if he were interviewed, that he was either misquoted and/or said a lot more than was printed.
