Earlier this week, the main website mannkindcorp.com had a nice link to mannkindtechnologies.com, which contained very detailed information on the inhaler devices and the various forms of Technosphere supporting a variety of drug delivery needs. Today, the link I found (click Our Technology, then Mannkind Technologies) only launches a "website under construction" message for the mannkindtechnologies.com URL.
What's particularly interesting is that it's obvious that Mannkind is in the process of splitting the company across two distinct websites. One could infer that: 1. Mannkind Technologies is (or was) intending to retain IP ownership of the inhalers and Technosphere 2. Partnership/Buyout/Go It Alone outcomes are still being negotiated
It's surprising that the website(s) are being modified for public view prior to the announcement.

sr71, I went to the website, Mannkindtechnologies.com, and got the same message you did - under construction. What was REALLY interesting though, is that when I googled "Mannkind Technologies", this is what came up as the #1 result: MannKind Corporation | Delivery & Device Technology for ... www.mannkindtechnologies.com/MannKind Corporation develops innovative drug delivery and device technologies to improve the medicine administration experience for patients, health care .. I saved a "print screen" of the Google results (just in case it changes) but it does certainly look like they are spinning off the technology portion - notice the Google blurb only talks about delivery and device...

When I first viewed mannkindtechnologies.com, not only was it functional (I clicked through every link from the main page), but was extremely professionally crafted (very impressive). . . . and, NO mention of Afrezza.

I see link www.mankindtechnologies.com as well, but it comes up "This site is currently unavailable..."
Ha! Leave it to a webmaster to spill the beans...
Nice catch, sr71!

Fyi
IP addresses for both sites suggest the the hosting location hasn't changed. But, what is interesting is the Mannkindtechnologies.com site has a much shorter TTL (time to live). One reason you'd want a short TTL is if you were planning on moving the site to another server (it would happen quicker).
TTL 2 hours vs. 12 hours (between the sites)

The Technology site went down in just the past few days. So...what does that mean? I see it a bit different possibilities.
a. the two parts of the company are being re-united for a higher sale price and/or partnership. b. the two parts of the company are being re-united for ANY sale price and/or partnership. c. the company needs to reunite both parts as they are going it alone and need to consolidate resources.
Whatever it means, it IS clear it will be happening soon... My guess is the weekend when no one can react.

I'd bet on...
d. For whatever reason they are creating a dedicated website for technosphere, but they accidentally linked to the development site from the main site before they were supposed to.
Anyone that has been involved with web development has seen something like that happen before.

There is no smoking gun here.
If the IP address for one of the sites point to the same server as (for example) Sanofi, that would be interesting...
Maintenance on the sites should be expected at this point...it could as simple as separating the sites do to increased traffic.

The Mannkind Technologies website is back up again - not sure if anything is different than before.

I get the sense that this new Mannkind Technologies site is geared more to patients and their doctors, whereas the other site's target audience is investors.
The new site is glitzy. It uses the term "Your drug."
I can see it linked to the BP's site for a technological view of Afrezza.
When you click "Visit the corporate site" (at top of screen), you are taken to a MNKD Afrezza site. Of course, if a split were in the works, that could be changed in a heartbeat.

Am I missing something? The MannKind Technologies website has existed for some time. Any downtime experienced today is likely routine maintenance.
