It takes a lot of money to promote a drug. I am ok with the offering, but I need Mike to convince me that the money can bring good Afrezza sales result that we have been waiting for over two years.

Oh, really? Prove it. No, really, prove it! And, by whose standard are you using "very little skin in the game"? Were you thinking that he could single-handedly purchase the entire company or something? I'm guessing that Mike C has more skin in the game than most of the whiners on the internet. That was pretty non-descript, "whiners on the internet," jeepers, proud of myself for that. Surprised someone else has not challenged this already, utterly ridiculous! porkini, Fine, be proud of it, if that's what makes your day. Mike made more money with Mannkind alone that what I will ever own. If you own some millions and 100k does not bother you, okay. It was my decision to invest in this company and that's what it is, but spare me with your grand laissez-faire generosity. This is years of money for some people. Thank you for proving my point - another whiner on the Internet!

after tumbling threw this thread, it is a darn good thing afrezza is the world best fast acting insulin. That helps at some level. and the UTHR deal. The share price awful. I want to hear the story. Help me out here. Some of you are able to come up with exact dollar amounts from the annual reports. Here is the last thing Mike communicated. $MNKD Update from Mike: Shareholder conference call soon. Balance sheet best ever w/ lowest debt ever. Twitter acct deactivating for a whilePhillyTimeDec 26th, 12:06 pm The reason I ask is Deerfield. 1.What did/does MNKD owe Deerfield? 2. As security, the MNKD patent portfolio? 3. If Deerfield is paid off... the MNKD patent portfolio becomes security for the bond holders? Regarding Twitter account deactivating. If I was negotiating, just shut everything down.

I would need to go back and check but I think the milestones total $75M on their own. The debt is on top of that. If this was going to be a short term condition then I believe they could have bridged the gap with a loan from Deerfield and avoided dilution. There is no real mileage I can see in paying Deerfield off early.

As I recall and understand milestones total $50m plus $11.5 in remaining debt. Total of $61.5m so $40 is a compromise for early buyout?

As I recall and understand milestones total $50m plus $11.5 in remaining debt. Total of $61.5m so $40 is a compromise for early buyout? I checked and it is $75M however that might not matter. The milestones are owned jointly by Deerfield and Horizon Santé so both parties would need to be bought out. Settling the Deerfield debt would leave just under $30M which would more or less cover all the milestones up to the $300M revenue mark. Deerfield may well be prepared to do a deal around this. The joint price paid by Deerfield and Horizon Santé was $18.9M for which they would get back $28.5M just over 5 years later. The questions Deerfield would need to ask are; how long do we project it taking to sell $300M of Afrezza, and how much Afrezza do we expect to eventually be sold.
