Technosphere could be used to for developing a biosimilar insulin. The subcutaneous solutions have poor stability and are vulnerable to many degradation factors and fibrillation. Technosphere could provide for a highly stabilized insulin solution for the application of developing biosimilar insulins. Since biosimilar insulin is a hot topic with FDA right now I wonder if Mike has thought about exploring this avenue to license Technosphere technology to companies pursuing development of subcutaneous biosimilar insulins to provide superior stability compared to current subcutaneous insulin solutions.

Did not forget bbb - the nasal / olfactory nerve largely bypasses that. I'm not saying that TI wouldn't work better. I'm just saying the platform may not be needed. Only studies will tell. Heck - there's even a guy promoting DIY intranasal insulin for improving memory and mood using OTC insulin and a nasal spray bottle:
(Note - I would not suggest trying this at home)

What ever happened with SNIFF? Is there a SNIFF 2, follow-up study? If so it would be nice to see afrezza added to a SNIFF 3 study.
I am seeing some are reporting better results with the use of aspart versus regular insulin. How a monomer reacts would be interesting. I wonder if Al did a small study which is in the stack of lost studies.
Here is a summary of the SNIFF results which seem pretty impressive
Results: 20 IU dose of insulin delayed story recall significantly improved compared to placebo, as did functional status. • Improvements in delayed memory recall persisted for 2 mos. after treatment ended. • Improved memory and functional status with insulin were associated with an improved AD biomarker profile as reflected by a lowered CSF Aβ40/42 ratio. • Also, compared with placebo patients, those in the insulin groups showed preserved glucose metabolism on FDG PET scanning in areas affected by AD pathology.

put some over the counter regular insulin in a neti pot?

www.google.com/amp/s/theconversation.com/amp/alzheimers-disease-why-insulin-is-a-new-suspect-97222Wake up Mannkind...inhaled insulin..may help..twice the market size..Alzheimers is a form of diabetes..type 3..no excuse not to try using technosphere..or is it that no one today using Afrezza progresses to Alzheimers in the current route and dry powder formulation? However some Alzheimers are not diabetic..body wise just brain wise..and vise versa..so maybe more than one route is needed? Technosphere isn't limited to powder form..so..no excuses..get to work!

People still don't realize that technospbere technology isn't limited to the dry powder..form..it is only approved for Afrezza in this form and..people do know it can deliver other drugs as a dry powder..but it seems somewhere along the way a few people never realized that Technosphere is a carrier that can also be designed for other indications subcutainoiusly..where it makes sense to do so..or as an aerosol..it's in the patent...also in animial studies technosphere was also delivered subcutanoiusly as well as inhaled..so..nasal delivery for example for another issue..technosphere may act as a stabilizer..not just a carrier..do people understand this or am I the only one that has this understanding?Gosh, Itell, if what you're saying is accurate, I sure as hell hope that at least one person who works for MNKD knows it too!!!

I am sure MNKD knows this is a fact..what I am not clear on is if they have thought about this application or if they are in any SNIFF type trials
