Caltech and Kaiser are collaborating on a hospital. They plan to focus on keeping people from getting sick. Kaiser has an incentive to do this as they are an insurer as well as a medical service provider. Data being data and Caltech being data driven anticipate early recognition of the value of med like Afrezza.

If I'm not mistaken, KP has market presence in CA, primarily, but also in Georgia, Maryland, Colorado and Washington (state). So, getting in With KP may afford greater geographic access than just CA. But, hey, taking a conservative 20% share of the 14% of diabetics in the 8.8 million patients served in CA equals 246,400 prescriptions to be had. That divided by 52 weeks equals 4738 TRX per week. That's way beyond break even with just CA. Given the traffic jams, MNKD should look at a billboard strategy or VDEX should, all the way up and down the coast from San Diego to San Francisco. Something as simple as "Diabetic? Ask your Endo or GP about Afrezza - Inhalable Insulin for glycemic control." Weight behind the arrow. Weight behind the arrow!

Just got tagged by a T1D on Facebook, he’s been trying to get afrezza for over a year, he says MNKD signed a deal with kaiser, and they are covering afrezza. I posted a pic on ST, don’t know how to share it here. He’s pretty excited !! A small victory 😎 I have an acquaintance who I have been discussing with for about six months who is currently on a pump. This is the message he sent me yesterday. “ I actually met with my doc last Friday and he gave me A BUNCH of samples of Afrezza. Reading up on it and plan to do some trials with it this week. We'll see. Thanks! Barry” Must really be some HOT news if Coco Kitty came out of hibernation to post!!

I just got tagged by a hot T1D here in PDX....oh wait wrong board Actually this guy is near Portland. His name, (of course) is John. I was playing Bass with a local RUSH Tribute, and John was one of our followers. Due the this, anytime he would upload a status, I would see it. Most of his comments were about his constant struggle with T1D, and how bad his health was, regardless of how hard he was trying to lead a healthy lifestyle. It was a really heartbreaking story for me, so I decided to contact him via DM and tell him everything I know about Afrezza. At first he was a tough nut to crack, but I kept sharing links to Afrezza support groups and every other useful article I could find. eventually he got hooked up with all the great T1d’s @ the Afrezza Facebook page, and began his fight to get Afrezza. It was a terribly frustrating and long battle, but after nearly a year, he was approved for a Dexcom CGM. The CGM was life changing !! He could now see a low coming before he was actually low, and take corrective action. This improved his health, but more importantly, it improved his attitude, and gave him hope that he would someday get to try Afrezza. Anyway, last week he got the call that Kaiser would be covering Afrezza, and that he would be getting it at his next appointment. He was beyond happy, actually had him in tears. And even though I’ve never had the chance to meet John, it makes me feel really good to know that a T1d, who was at the end of their rope and had lost all hope, is now happier and healthier and on his way to a better life, a life with real-time glucose management, and Afrezza. I look forward to watching Johns progress as he transitions to Afrezza, and hope to someday get to meet him. Good Luck everybody ✌🏻😎

Rush has always been on of my favs. Glad I was able to see them on the R40 tour (At the Verizon amphitheater in Alpharetta, GA) - The RUSH music was quite the challenge !! I originally took the position to help overcome a nerve condition in my left hand, (RSD). In 2014 I was rear ended at high speed and received a spinal cord injury @ C6. I had to have an emergency disc replacement or I would’ve been paralyzed from the neck down. Immediately After the surgery I could tell things weren’t quite right with my left shoulder, elbow, wrist, and fingers, and within a few months I was forced to step down as the Bass Player in a Band that I had been in nearly 20 years. My wrist and fingers were completely stiff !! absolutely no mobility or dexterity. After about a year, I noticed a little moss growing on the roof of my 2 story garage, so I grabbed my Tide with bleach, and headed up the ladder to kill it. I wound up slipping on some of the soap I put down, and put my hands down to break my fall, (my left wrist had been completely locked up for nearly a year). When I hit the ground I heard this big SNAP !!! I wasn’t hurt, and to my surprise, my left wrist was broke free, and I could bend it back and forth, (a little). Well if it worked for my wrist, it may work for my fingers also. So 1 by 1, I forced my stiff fingers to bend, it was extremely painful at first, but the farther I got them to bend, the better they felt. Anyway, I was able to overcome the RSD and rejoin The band in August 2015, and also took the offer from The RUSH Experience in March 2016. I figured it would be great therapy for my fingers, but wound up loving the music, but especially the Challenge of covering Geddy Lee. Playing Synthesized parts, along with keys, pedals, and Bass made this one of the most Unique Musical experiences of my career. But the highlight of my time with the RUSH Experience was the correspondence I had with John Solgberg, and the fact that I actually may have helped him live life a little easier. The End ! ✌🏻🎸😎

All the world's indeed a stage, and we are merely players...
Rick you are obviously quite the musician, to meet the multifaceted challenge of covering Geddy. That's badass.

Rick - You do know that you were lucky you landed on your hands and didn't break your neck instead. So, was it the Tide or the bleach that was the remedy? Ha! In martial arts training our sifu (teacher) was really good in doing this type of therapy. He showed us all these muscle and bone skeletal charts and "tried" to teach us how the body works. We had a live demonstration when this green beret's parachute had failed so he grabbed his buddy's chute and the two came down fast and hard. He had a hip fracture and couldn't really walk well for 3 months. He is a tough guy and came back to class to try to continue his training. Our sifu saw his problem and had the class hold him sitting and leaning against the wall with his legs crossed. He then shoved down on his knees and we could all hear this pop as his hip reset. The green beret screamed ... a guy who I think wouldn't scream if you stabbed him with a knife. Sifu told him to stand up and walk. The green beret was apprehensive ... but, we grabbed his arms and helped him up. He started to walk and was noticeably walking better. Sifu shook his head and told us to hold him down again. Fear definitely was in the green berets eyes, but he let us hold him down. Second shove on his knees and a slightly different sound could be heard. He got up again and could walk way better, even though he was still in pain. Wow! The green beret went to the docs the next day ... and they were amazed at the recovery. In a couple of weeks, you could see that he was almost totally healed. Ahhh ... the relief of being able to run around again in the jungles. HUH? But, I really don't want people to start twisting their joints trying to be cured. Let me do it ...
