J&J hit with over $500MM damages by judge for its role in opioid epidemic. This would be an opportune time for MsnnKind to issue PR that communicated it’s pre-clinical development of non-addicting pain meds and promote their technology even though it’s in the long-term pipeline bucket. Based upon medical media coverage during the past few years, however, MannKind doesn’t appear to have developed its network of media contacts. Zero coverage of EpiHale during last year’s epinephrine shortage and Mylan woes is just one example of a lost opportunity to promote the pipeline. During that time period, the dominant discussion on PB was the management’s “team-building” event in Hawaii. Yep. A head scratcher. Lets get real. Mannkind is all about Afrezza. We dont get updates about the things we are working on, case in point RLS, other pipeline drugs. Their PRs are far and in between. They dont dont know how to create a buzz! Be proactive to events like the JNJ judgement. Show other investors how we are connected to the canniboid space. Support videos like Afrezza Jake and such. Jesus how hard is it!?! But alas, Rose is older than dirt. She is thumbs when it comes to social media.

How hard is it to understand that the FDA does not allow pharma companies to use anecdotal patient experiences like Jake? It's only been discussed 300 times here. While I've been vocal about more transparency, some of the things you are citing I believe we probably have as much transparency as there is to be had. RLS isn't under MNKDs control. We all know they haven't yet started Phase I trials. MNKD shouldn't and wouldn't get into the business of trying to predict when RLS will choose to do so. RLS, not MNKD, will announce when they've made a decision to conduct Phase I trials. As for pipeline, we were told when they made the decision to take TreT to Phase I. Now, we are updated on the candidate APIs and presumably would be told when the decision is made to take another one to Phase I. We really don't need them to repeatedly tell us they have not yet decided to pull the trigger on any Phase I's, do we? There is a difference between them not doing things as fast as we'd like vs not updating us. Granted there would be a lot more buzz if MNKD had the financial resources to be working on taking multiple APIs through trials. However, PR saying we don't have the money isn't very buzzy. To me it's mainly finances and expectations/hurdles to Afrezza sales that need more transparency.

True, but there are a ton of STUPID people in jail that did illegal things. Some how I think we can spin this into a soliloquy: Being STUPID is not Illegal There are a ton of STUPID people There are STUPID people in jail.

When I first invested in Mannkind, I did some research on how much money is spent annually on drugs by category. The top 3 were diabetes, cancer, and pain meds. And, diabetes had just eclipsed cancer for the first time (I think - 2014?). And, money spent in the U.S. on diabetes and cancer medications was like an order of magnitude greater than the next largest category, pain.
All that being said, the current opioid epidemic provides an interesting comparison in that while diabetes and oncology care are very specialized fields with carefully managed standards of care, pain management is as easy as going to your PCP and saying, "I hurt". Which most of us do at one time or another.
I'm very much interested in the inhaled migraine medication. I have a former boss who has been hospitalized multiple times with migraines. The medication they give him has to be injected. If he could carry a dreamboat and a cartridge of anti-migraine medication that worked as well as whatever he has to go to a hospital for, he is one man I would very much like to see have that capability. A good charitable man.
