Just for reference, Afrezza net revenue in Q4 2018 was $5.7M, Q1 2019 was $5.1M with the $9.3M TV campaign and the DTC program. So they spent nearly two quarters' worth of Net Revenue on the TV campaign, 9.3 M, for almost no growth in scripts. How many times did he say "we'll know more on that next quarter"? WTF? Truly dismal conference call. I left the conference with a bit of a sigh of relief. I felt for once they didn't dangle a carrot in front of my face hoping for a big pop or some other outlier coming into play. It seemed more like "this is our trajectory and we will see how growth continues over the next two quarters". Not that it offered me any satisfaction to think that's all that's left, but it felt like an honest admission on their part that this is what's left; i.e. stay the course and make some decisions about Afrezza in the near future.

Truly dismal conference call. We (the shareholders) all wanted MannKind to continuously advertise the Afrezza commercial on TV. Eventually... that is what MannKind did. It came at a large price (obviously), and there was never any guarantees on overnight success of our drug, just hope and excitement. Let's keep hoping and be more patient. They are moving in the positive direction, despite the slow pace. This is a Turtle and The Hare race. Moving and gaining uphill momentum is always more difficult, and a lot better to see than seeing a decline. And let's be frank about this Call. There was nothing in there to be excited about except Mike comparing the IPhone to a flip phone...... the IPhone first came out in 2007 and when it first came out, I wasn’t an immediate user until 2012. You may not be an IPhone user but the iphone did enable other companies to make their phones smarter. Also, Mike also mentioned that the delivery of insulin via needles have been the only means for 97 years, so changing this habit will take time to educate both users and healthcare professionals . Practice patience

"New scientific data released at ATTD and ACCE and late-breaking abstract accepted for release at ADA in June" I thought Mannkind / Mike said they were not attending the ADA because the audience there was all wrong. I suppose someone besides Mannkind could be presenting the abstract, but if the audience there is not interested then so what? Or am I confusing the ADA conference with some other one? It is not a requirement to exhibit at the conference in order to show a poster. There are 316 posters on show in the hour slot Mannkind's poster is on display for alone! Of course they know the numbers; they have precisely one pharmacy filling those scripts and all it takes is a phone call to ask them how many they have filled, but more likely Eagle Pharmacy dumps the details of order flow and inventory level by electronic data interchange. EDI records flow at least once every 24 hours, and in many cases every hour, or the manufacturer can poll for the data on demand. So yes, they have the numbers but they aren't sharing the details. Shareholders have no legal right, per se, to view detailed operational data, but when the company makes a big public splash about a new marketing program then they sort of have an obligation to make some disclosures about how effective that program has been. If management hadn't announced the DTC channel they would have less obligation to talk about it, but keeping quiet about leaves people to speculate on what the facts really are and that is rarely desirable.
