It might be interesting to see how many shares of MannKind that the readers on this board represent. I am sure that we want to remain private in the number of shares we each personally hold but it might be interesting to put together a tally of the totals. If there is a person who wants to collect this information in a totally anonymous fashion please let me know.
Do we represent more then ? shares?

After 22 votes, using the minumum # of each category, we have a half million shares replied. This is more interesting than I thought it would be. Good idea, kc!

Just click on the box next to your category. Hope this was helpful, the graph is at the top of the original message. RSR

many more than half a million....those that have a lot more than 50k shares can't be accounted for due to the parameter of the poll

After 22 votes, using the minumum # of each category, we have a half million shares replied. This is more interesting than I thought it would be. Good idea, kc! Up to almost 900 million. And again remember I am using the LOWEST figure in the range. So it is safe to assume we have over 1 million+ easy on this board and that is just with who replied so far. I am just keeping track for the fun of it. I know this isn't scientific, but like I said,it is fun.

I have no issue redoing the poll with assistance on size categories. I know my investment falls in the higher end of a category. Please give size ideals.

This is close enough for government work. I'd just use the middle of each range, which is more likely to be representative than the low end, and leave it at that.

How do you indicate how many shares one is short?

I have an idea. Set up a category "more than 50,000,000 shares". If someone checks it, then we know Al reads and participates on this board!

What about counting options? This may be more complicated though because of different strikes(moneyness) and combinations of long/short and call/put.
