If ITMN is worth $8.3 billion, then MNKD should be valued at significantly more. 1 billion is sales for ITMN's drug is not expected until 2019. While the drug is currently used worldwide, FDA approval in the US is not expected until November. ITMN recently had 2 downgrades (sound familiar). ITMN was as low as $10.95 this year and is now $74. Roche CEO says the purchase was for growth. What better growth story is there than Afrezza and Technosphere (down the road a bit). With these kind of valuations, it looks like MNKD is a steal at $7.

If Afrezza is bought out for $8.3 billion, the share price would fall to $1, because the shorts would claim MNKD accepted monopoly money as payment.

I should be a millionaire by now. But I am not. Unfortunately, the market dictates what they think about a stock and right now Mr. Market doesn't have all that high of an opinion on MNKD. That will hopefully change in 8-12 months from now

If Afrezza is bought out for $8.3 billion, the share price would fall to $1, because the shorts would claim MNKD accepted monopoly money as payment. And the longs would believe them! Quite a day for biotech, even some of my long-suffering dogs are up today (MNKD is NOT in that category - yet), let's see what we can do.

Anybody know what the short action was on ITMN? Just curious if they had as many as MNKD.

9.5 million shares as of 7/31. It had been hovering around 10-11 million shares short over the past year.

So, 9.5 million shares would be a little less than half of what MNKD's short position is, proportionately? Back of the head figuring, so could be way off by a factor of ten quite easily!

We all get frustrated with the silence that management at MNKD puts us through but when you see how the blood thirsty attorneys line up when a good deal is made with a Buyout of a company. The shorts know that MNKD will be purchased at sometime in the future. Look at what happened since the ITMN news. docs.wongesq.com/ITMN-Info-Request-Form-370. There is no cost or obligation to you. Under the terms of the transaction, InterMune shareholders will receive approximately $74 per share in cash for each share of InterMune stock they own. The investigation concerns whether the Board of InterMune breached their fiduciary duty to stockholders by failing to adequately shop the Company before agreeing to enter into this transaction, and whether the Roche is underpaying for InterMune shares
The sharks are out there waiting to pounce on MNKD when the big announcment is made. Go back to the 2011 Class action that MNKD had to defend. That is why silence is golden.

Hey, kc and mannmade, one of these days MNKD may get a buyout offer and I can bet all my MNKD shares that many here will think it grossly inadequate. At that time, who will the aggrieved call for help - the Board Monitors? LOL. That being said, the kind of unsolicited crap guys like Wong throw out there are enough to make me wanna puke! They get people, some of whom are already thinking the price is inadequate, thinking, "maybe I should contact this guy Wong, maybe if we stir up the waters some, I'll get more money out of this." That type of thinking also makes me wanna puke, and all types, not just attorneys, think that way. As for you, mannmade, once an attorney, always an attorney, even if you don't practice anymore, or even have let your license lapse. You can't totally get that stink off of you! The diploma sticks to you like the Tar Baby! And besides, I think the principal reason we get along so well is because we both went to law school, so we tend to think alike. It's so difficult for me to read posts by non-lawyers, so imprecise, so ponderous, laden with poor grammar and spelling, with arguments that can be so easily picked apart and destroyed. Yes, it's a chore, but someone's gotta do it.

On second thought, Baba, perhaps we shoud call him and see if he will take a class action on our behalf for all of the manipulation and send him after the Karpster as our first target... Boy would I like to hook Karp and fry him...
