Hi All, Not sure if any of you follow AfrezzaUser on YMB but he's on twitter with some pretty cool info. He shares some good stats on his performance in the trial. He just posted his AdCom speech in his last tweet. This is a glimpse of how patients will have an impact via social media. follow afrezzauser and spread the word. JimO

That is so powerful and on point it gives me the chills. The immediate impact to the health of type ones will certainly be recognized quickly if afrezzauser's experience is replicated with other new adopters. For type twos, data and appreciation for afrezza's impact will be slower but eventually recognized when the medical community grasps the long term life benefits and large scale cost savings in the health care arena.

Yes, typeonedad, he really nailed the essence of why this is such a wonderful drug. I can see that video being circulated widely amongst the diabetes community, and patients are going to really put pressure on their docs to go this route.

Some observations and predictions since my original post. The social media thing is happening and the soon to be hockey stick discussion rate of Afrezza on social media will help accelerate the hockey stick adoption rate by patients and doctors. Seems like a slow start then we see a steep curve up. When I started this thread I was AffrezzaUser's 90th follower - he now has almost 700. On Twitter Sam is on to something with other AfrezzaUsers. I think he'll make the phases "I'm an AfrezzaUser" and "Are you an AfrezzaUser?" common among diabetics. He just said Adam Lasher (currently on American idol who he met on his recent trip to CA) is a future AfrezzaUser. www.youtube.com/watch?v=-hX_wUQELlA (Adam talks about his GCM during audition) (Adam & Sam) I'm not a tweeter but lurk and follow Sam on Twitter, pretty easy to do if you aren't on it yet. It's happening! JimO

Typeonedad, you wrote, "if afrezzauser's experience is replicated with other new adopters."
If that happens, it's game, set and match! I wish I knew how likely that was to occur.

He'll answer you questions if you write him.
I asked if he'd post his before and after control charts - the ones he held up in his video and he replied almost immediately
He said he really overate on his first trip and forgot his bolus (staying in control though) and he was going to post control charts for the 8 days following his trip. This chart should show what a smart attentive type one is capable of achieving when they behave.

Baba, Afrezzauser will always be my #1 hero. He is the trailblazer. But I've got a feeling his video's will be replicated by T1's (an eventually 2's) of all shapes and sizes, holding up graphical documentation of lower highs and higher lows. Tight numbers that will change forever the quality of T1's daily existence. There are things to worry about but efficacy isn't one of them.
