Is that tier 1 (lowest copay) on your plan?

That's a lot cheaper than I thought it would be. Hopefully other people can qualify for that same price.

I checked the Express Scripts web site through Tricare. Listed with $13.00 co-pay. Holy cow! I am not very familiarized with insurance coverage in the US, even though I live here, but that seems incredibly cheap. What are the requirements to qualify for such a price reduction? Could anybody enlighten me? please.

I checked the Express Scripts web site through Tricare. Listed with $13.00 co-pay. Tricare is the Military healthcare system which significantly lowers the cost of medication for military members and retirees. One reason I stayed in for 23 yrs...

That is a Game changer. Its there for all to see. NOTICE THAT ACTIVE DUTY MEMBERS GET IT FOR $0.00 (thanks for serving the USA) TriCare US DOD has Afrezza 4 unit (30)/8 unit (60) for $13.00 thru Express Scripts for mail order and $17.00 for retail I think the Short's on MNKD are in trouble. The DOD sees the benefits of Afrezza for Diabetic care. You can bet that the other government health formulary programs will be picking up Afrezza. Eventually all plans will have it and the Tier pricing will be in the Tier 2 or 3 range. pec.ha.osd.mil/fst/formulary_search_results.php

This is great. Not only is it good for the shareholders, but by keeping the co-pays as low as they are, this will ensure access for people who really need it. Thanks for posting this stuff.

Yes, this is really a no brainer for anyone with access to Tricare! With the cost that low, I can easily see diabetics willing to give Afrezza at least a try. The number of military retirees is HUGE so this really opens a BIG group for SNY to target.

Another Lightfoot fan! "... Time has been wastin' away, you know time doesn't Wait for nobody to find what they're after...." Anyhoo - Afrezza will be a hit with the DoD for the same reason as it will with civilians -- ease of use, good control, fewer hypos, savings over time.

There are about 800,000 vets with diabetes being treated by the VA. Not all will qualify, of course, but a big chunk will.

I wouldnt read too much into this. I did the same on Caremark and it told me it would cost $0. Then I searched their "Check costs and coverage" module, and Afrezza wasnt even listed.
