I hold MNKD long in my stock account and I trade in my IRA, what I have noticed over the past few weeks that if I sell in my IRA account the transaction is currently clearing in a day not the traditional three day events. This has to mean that real shares are in demand because the brokerage firms surely would love to hang on to the money for the two days allowed

Of course it's down, Spiro and I both guessed it would be up just to ensure it was down! Thanks for posting.

Schwab just took another chunk of shares I had transferred in that sat unloaned for the past couple of weeks... though it is at the 16% rate.

Exchanges: NASDAQ Either they pay down their debt via buying (requires austerity measures lol) or the rate will creep back up...those are their choices at this point, they are the equivalent to Greece IMO, how long will they continue to subsidize via printing "phantom shares" that will eventually have to be delivered? kick the can...kick the can, until you reach the dead end. Owning the shares and receiving interest is the equivalent of having taken out insurance against CDS (credit default swaps) prior to the 2008 meltdown...if you were owners of that insurance, you made out dearly...ok time for that 7th inning stretch (that's about where I put this game waiting for the walk off grand slam (coinciding with formulary issues getting resolved) in the bottom of the ninth

So if one engages in naked shorting, when they start the trade do they collect any $$ for the sale even though there is no collateral behind the trade and if / when they fail to deliver, is the money, if still around taken back from them or does this even happen given that they make the trade and sale but deliver nothing to the buyer?

Scotta, not sure if you read this from the other thread already but there are posted links throughout here and most likely on YMB regarding the topics around naked shorting and the manipulation that surrounds it. Here is the link that I posted in response to Splendid's post yesterday about SOS's blog. To me it's like you would have to be Dorothy....you have to find the Emerald City first (most likely GS among others), be able to get in (good luck with that), and then expose the "great wizard" behind the curtain (I mentioned this with some laughter because I was asking a MM friend of mine and in a nutshell he said you really have to get into the inner workings "behind the curtain" ....I jokingly said to him, but I thought you were the wizard ...here is the link btw: smithonstocks.com/illegal-naked-short-selling-appears-to-lie-at-the-heart-of-an-extensive-stock-manipulation-scheme/In the end, the wizard did get exposed...not sure how this will play out as far as the "brotherhood" behind this and the other heavily shorted biotechs, etc. ...next month though, when the Minion movie comes out I have a feeling I will be naming them Adam, David, Jason, Jay, Josh, maybe even throw a Lloyd in there as well lol....but you get the idea!

Thanks Joey. I have that and others on my reading list. Hopefully in the next few months, the rise in Rx along with revenue and profit starts to put some of this to bed.

Friday I had some extra shares transferred from Ameritrade to Schwab to put in the lending program. Called Schwab today. They say that the demand to borrow MNKD is quite volatile from day to day and week to week, but right now they do have demand and should get these shares lent out by tomorrow.

I think this is must reading for all who value Mannkind (I've posted the link previously, after seeing it on the Larry Smith blog).
counterfeitingstock.com/
Quote below from: Counterfeiting Stock 2.0 by Citizens for Securities Reform
"One emerging company for which we have been able to get or make reasonable estimates of the total short interest, the disclosed short interest, the available stock lend and the fails–to–deliver, has fifty “buried” counterfeit shares for every fail–to–deliver share, which is the only thing that the SEC tracks, consequently the SEC has not acted on shareholder complaints holding that the stock is being manipulated."
The PDF of this article has interesting appendices, one of which shows why a short squeeze is highly improbable in small emerging biotech companies... Too bad my small brain cannot comprehend it all! These days we hear so much about the virtue of free markets and the inefficiencies brought on by over-regulation, but without the political will to regulate responsibly (and ruthlessly, with the dark players involved), we're left with a system that destroys innovation and hyper-encourages greed. The graphic below reminds me of the Titanic; here's to our little Dreamboat finding friendlier waters containing less effluence and more affluence! Attachment Deleted

Lilly produced a granddaddy batch of E. coli, now referred to as the "master cell bank," sometime in the 1980s. It has gone on to seed every batch of Humulin to this day. Whenever Lilly wants a fresh stash of Humulin, workers go to the freezer, pull out a tube from the master cell bank, thaw it out, and stimulate the bacteria to grow.
Starting with a mere half gram of bacteria, the microorganisms begin to replicate prodigiously, doubling their numbers every 20 minutes or so. www.diabetesforecast.org/2013/jul/making-insulin.html Attachment Deleted

Anyone know when the Fidelity payment is supposed to be in our accounts? I'd like to get that reinvested sooner rather than later.
