I am new to investing and given the current state of mannkind I dont know what to expect that day.
I will be on the second day of vacation in Aruba and wonder if I should not sign into my fidelity account.

'Current state' key words indeed. If viewed as a true investment the current state is not the critical issue. If I owned this company would I do anything differently than the current management? Does the strategy for implementation fit the target market? I think we have a tendency to over analyze the short term stuff and lose focus of the bigger picture. Just my opinion. BTW my answers to my own questions are; not only no, but hell no and yes.

If whatever happens to the share price after the call could/would cause you to doubt your position, don't even bother looking. Nobody, and I mean nobody, long or short, will have any idea whether Afrezza is/will be successful, 7 days from now. Nothing in the next 7 days will (most likely) be new/material to the story. If you're expecting anything to the contrary, you will be disappointed. We'll need to see what the actual sales #'s look like after Doctor training/DTC marketing campaigns. Until then, anything else is just noise. Edit: Added *most likely* - nothing is ever certain |

Currently we are facing an equity value erosion which is in contrast with the fundamentals of Mannkind Corp. -> What keeps the stock market moving is volatility -> What sustains a company valuation are good fundamentals, we have a revenue stream (Technosphere+Afrezza) For more than one year we are on track, the silence is hurting but we are pushing harder. Now let just face the true management (IR) needs to do more for shareholders value - yes - and slowly and surely we will get there, a better life for diabetics with Afrezza Everybody is born with a survival instinct and illness is always trying to claim our life on the long run, among them diabetes. Someone had a theory that I liked... What if the reason MNKD is releasing their earnings Thursday after market, then having their CC the morning after on Friday is to accommodate SNY. SNY is on EU time. Could be something that requires SNY to be present for the CC?
1) Buyout of MNKD
2) Buyout of just Afrezza
3) More partnership in the pipeline with SNY? TS applied to more drugs?
SNY yesterday approved 130M shares roughly 6.5B at current share price.
But this could be our minds just trying to make sense of nothing... But who knows!!!
Could explain why both companies are so silent?

I will say it's an unusual set-up for the MNKD earnings / cc; but I'm not going to let my imagination run amok just yet.It would be helpful if someone could gently explain the difference between "hopeful" and "delusional"? I fear i may be one or the other. The time difference between the US and France is interesting. And a post on YMB claimed when the MNKD/SNY partnership was announced it was done in the morning at a similar time in a similar way. |

humans ability to find hope in face of insurmountable odds is what helped us survive and thrive.
That hope is channeled in good measure to find correlations in unrelated events.
We can connect random technical bounce to shorts fear, timing of mnkd calls to buyout, etc
Why should we ridicule posters and deprive them of a coping mechanism? It is indeed stressful to be long MNKD.

BO can happen anytime, neither you nor I know when it will happen. It's not surprising that bullish investors (new and long-term) become jaded and deflated when the share prices drops. These type of overzealous pumping statements can really rally people's emotions for the worse. A SELL-OUT (SO) by Sanofi can happen anytime too, neither you nor I know if or when it could happen. |

Your "pumper" statements have little or no proof, it only serves to cause unreasonable expectations to occur for MNKD's SP. BO BS has been occurring for years! Your statements belong on YMB not here. You obviously don't know the man...he's won't sell since he's old...he sells when he can maximize his return. A lot of his stock holdings are in a trust so he's time horizon is NOT months! Your only valid point is a BO could occur any time. Probably is about ZERO PERCENT right NOW but if you want to wave the flag over that then go ahead. |
