I went to a local CVS here in SoCal and asked if they had prescribed Afrezza yet. The busy pharmacist actually told me they had a couple patients who had tried Afrezza but that they didn't like it and went back to their old regimen. She told me she didn't know the reason why they didn't like Afrezza when I asked if she knew why they stopped taking it. Granted, it's just a few people and one can only surmise that they did not have the patience to learn how to properly use it. Regardless, that's my first hand account and first time I actually had someone at a large pharmacy chain in a large city confirm that they actually filled an Afrezza script.

And this just in from YMB... fragslap • 15 minutes ago 0users liked this postsusers disliked this posts1Reply Now THIS is frightening! One of the afrezzaholics -- one of the TRULY devoted, I might add -- over on the proboards "mnkdcirclejerk" forum started a thread entitled "Not so encouraging news at local CVS": "I went to a local CVS here in SoCal and asked if they had prescribed Afrezza yet. The busy pharmacist actually told me they had a couple patients who had tried Afrezza but that they didn't like it and went back to their old regimen. The REALLY frightening thing is that it's been an hour now, and so far he hasn't been "flamed," accused of being a "short," "basher," or turncoat, nor had either life or limb threatened! Whew! Now THAT is worrisome!

I'm not too worried about it. The refill % is around 70%. Not all drugs work for everyone or get adopted well. 70% retention is pretty good, although I'd like to see even higher than that. Who knows, perhaps they'll go back to it once their doctor gets a little more exposure and knowledge about how this whole thing works. He/She may discuss possible problems/concerns the patient had with it and encourage them to give it another shot because it's working so well for everyone else. That's my hope at least Sounds like it's a little finicky to master, but once you do, it's smooth as glass.

It's possible they got some samples and then their first Rx for free using that card Sanofi offers so maybe they liked the product and not the price or did not have the $$ to pay for Afrezza as a tier 3 product. A million reasons why and you won't know the real one.

Since there is no info you can not be sure. But, one thing I will say is that unfortunately many people are sedentary in there lifestyles. This may affect the spirometry and or breath due to lack of exercise.
From what I saw of young people on Fox news and ABC it seemed to be working quite well for them. It is not for all as the label states.
I see Sanofi moving forward in a multitude of ways.
The fact that Al stepped down from being CEO tells me he is not concerned.

Am sure it's true b/c of the poster being a good member of this Board. And lastly it does not bother me as I think there are many logical reasons for it that may habe nothing directly to do w Afrezza.

I think Matt B's latest video explains how difficult it can be for diabetics to rethink how their insulin works. Afrezza does not work like SC insulin, and in Matt's opinion Sanofi should be eliminating the unit designations to make the distinction clearer. Even a very smart guy like him says he had trouble figuring out just how Afrezza works and how to use it.

I wouldn't buy in to, too much of their opinion. My dog had a hip operation and during his surgery he caught MRSA. I asked every pharmacist about the infection and no one knew how to handle. They are just their to fill orders.

Fudsters will be fudsters. Again, I don't know the reason why the 2 people didn't like Afrezza and the reality is that Afrezza won't be for everyone. But if the problem was that the two people didn't understand how to use it and lost patience because they weren't timing their inhales correctly, it just goes to prove a point I and others have made about properly being told how to use it and having some sort of support system in place as well as having patience. We live in a world of instant gratification. As far as we know, these two people didn't have the patience to dial Afrezza in. But regardless, two instances doesn't make a trend. Refill rates have been growing. That's the key thing.
