What is the real value of Mannkind. Technosphere and all the patents? In US dollars? 1 FDA approved drug. Just asking.

At the rate of losing -2% per day with a few -8% Monday's after disappointing scripts thrown in, it's not going to be worth much by the end of the year. How could Al see this and not have a plan, he needs to bring in an outside auditor and specialists that value assets or who can value the company (real value) and then he can put it up for auction to Big Pharma who will get the job done and hopefully make most of us whole. I just don't see how losing -2% per day is the f#%$ing plan!

peppy sorry if this is OT but I did buy a gold mining ETF today (GDX) and it's already UP. MNKD stock price is distorted by the shorting, my email from Hakan last week said the SEC knows about it, but still I can't keep all my eggs in this basket. Diversify at least a little to protect yourself. You can bet the BOD members including Al do

Quote: Unless the Mann himself wants to take Mannkind private... Reply,
Nah, I am thinking sell some of the patents. I get it Mannkind got a approval, got a manufacturing site in PA and set up shop, filled the sample orders and went dead. The convertibles, blah blah. Perhaps Al came back to sell some patents.

Unless the Mann himself wants to take Mannkind private... I would like to think he is not planning that. I have been burned twice in my long investing carrier by management teams that seemingly did nothing to stabilize share price and then out of the blue they were buying the company out at rock bottom prices. Even if he isn't planning it, if the price gets low enough and he doesn't want to lose Afrezza through bankruptcy, I doubt out of the goodness of his heart he'd offer to recapitalize at significantly above market rates... whether that is taking the company private or a sizable additional equity investment. I sure hope there is some public effort to support the share price prior to such a move at rock bottom prices.

ricguy I bet we haven't, it can only get much worse, I believe Goldman has every intention of hitting their seemingly "magical" price target. dreamboatcruise and peppy I can't see how Mann won't* take MNKD private once we hit a Market Cap of $500mil (which were heading), how could he not?! I sure would if I were him, even if he sold the company today at a 50% premium (which is pretty steep) we'd only be looking at about $3.68, would Al even cover his principal on that? Why would he sell it now and only make 50% on his 40% share of ownership when he could take it private and make 50% on the entire worth of the company? What am I missing here?

Well, the game plan of purposely being passive and allowing share price to drop with the intent to do that is a clear violation of fiduciary duty. Even without that plan a piori, it raises suspicion of such and potential for litigation. Though others have certainly gotten away with doing exactly that, often backed by private equity only to have an IPO again in relatively short period of time at much higher valuation.
