investors.mannkindcorp.com/releasedetail.cfm?ReleaseID=1039509WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif., Sept. 07, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- MannKind Corporation (Nasdaq:MNKD) (TASE:MNKD) announced today the company's support for Hurricane Harvey victims with a donation of Afrezza® (insulin human) Inhalation Powder. The donation will be shipped this week to Insulin for Life USA, Inc., a not-for-profit entity whose purpose is to aid those living with diabetes by supplying life-saving insulin and other disease management supplies in times of need. Insulin for Life USA, Inc., The American Diabetes Association, and JDRF have partnered to ensure that donated diabetic supplies get to shelters and county health leaders in the affected areas as soon as possible. "In times of crisis, many of us rely on our good health to help us get to better days," said Michael Castagna, CEO of MannKind Corporation. "Among the millions of residents impacted by Hurricane Harvey are people who must manage their diabetes to maintain good health — but are separated by circumstance from their supplies. Extending a helping hand is consistent with our company's values, and simply the right thing to do." Available through prescription only, Afrezza® is a rapid-acting inhaled insulin used to improve glycemic control in adults with diabetes. MannKind has authorized over 27,000 cartridges of insulin to be donated to Insulin for Life USA. For more information, including important safety information, on Afrezza®, visit www.afrezza.com. "When it comes to rebuilding a life following a major event like Hurricane Harvey, things rarely go according to schedule," said Castagna. "We hope that our support provides some relief to those in need during such a challenging time." It might be posted elsewhere, but have had a chance to read all posts, but I'm sure you saw our pal Adam Fuernstein twitter response to their generous donation. Talk about a classless POS " Expired $MNKD Afrezza inhalers can be used as whistles to alert rescuers. Actually more helpful that way." "

"MannKind has authorized over 27,000 cartridges of insulin to be donated to Insulin for Life USA"
It doesn't say anywhere it's donating inhalers, just cartridges. If there are 90 cartridges in a standard set, it's good for 300 inhalers. It sounds like it's intended for those already in possession of inhalers, to refill their stock.
Otherwise, how would they just give away Afrezza to anyone with no prescription or even spirometry test?

I hear what you're saying about the inhalers, but I think you throw need for prescriptions out the window when you're talking about possibly saving lives in a catastrophe like this..it is a FDA approved drug after all

I've seen enough of this "wishful thinking" frenzy in the last 5 years: just like "they're giving Afrezzas away to anyone in a flood zone without any prescription or spirometry test just because they're in a flood zone, wow! Awesome, buy, buy, buy!!! Take your pink glasses off, get real, and get back to your day job!

Hmmm....I just took a quick scan through this thread and, unless they deleted/edited it, I can not find any posts where someone wrote "they're giving Afrezzas away to anyone in a flood zone without any prescription or spirometry test just because they're in a flood zone, wow! Awesome, buy, buy, buy!!!". All I see is that people are glad that MNKD is helping out during this trying time and are hoping that this exposure will also help get the word out about Afrezza. Don't see anyone putting on "pink glasses" at all....now dark glasses is a different story <-------------

Adam Feuerstein (@adamfeuerstein) | ... -- Twitter › adamfeuerstein 11 mins ago - The latest Tweets from AdamFeuerstein (@ adamfeuerstein). ... an accounting trick to write off nearly expired product or both? $MNKD. -- Mannkind gave from the heart..and Adam Fruerstein who gave nothing to the victims of hurricane Harvey had to say something negative. Mnkd knows there are always someone out there saying something bad no matter what good you do...but...they gave anyway...Adam on the other hand...would rather mess with the State of Texas...and MNKD for helping those in need when it matters most...hey maybe they do get a tax break..maybe they put that inventory to good use...helping people...and no one gets taxed for volunteering..The way Adam sees the world no good deed goes unpunished ..by him...In my view Adam..you really shouldn't mess with the State of Texas..or the people that help them in their time of need...just because you want to keep mnkd stock price down...remember Adam..nobody messes with Texas!
