Initial Registration:
Near the end of the registration process, applicants are asked to enter a "Request Message". Filling this in is MANDATORY for approval. If you didn't enter a sentence, you'll never get an activation email.
Activation email:
At least a few members attempted to register and then never received the activation email that allowed them to complete the process.
When that activation email never shows up, there are several possible causes. One is that the "Request Message" field was not filled out during registration. Another is when the email gets caught in your spam filter. If you know how to look for it in your spam filter and "free" it, that would solve the problem.
You can pre-authorize (white-list) the sender to keep the email from getting caught in your spam filter. The sender is noreply@proboards.com.
If it's not in your spam filter, but it never arrives, then there's just something out there that intercepts certain emails between ProBoards and your in-box, and there's nothing anyone here can do about it. In that case, you'll have to re-register using an email on a different server. Try yahoomail or gmail; those will work fine. Most "disposable" email sites should also work OK.
If you find you do have to re-register with a new user ID and email address, please PM a staff member after you get settled into an account that works, and we'll delete the old (non-authorized) account. You can then set your display name to be anything you want, even if different from the ID you use to log in with.
