How many people does Mannkind employ? They don't have a 401K plan?
The timing speaks of desperation, is it enough to stem the bleed and put the stock above the warrant price?
Say Mannkind has 1000 employees that end up averaging 3% of their pay into after tax purchases of Mannkind stock. What are we looking at $225K, or roughly 112K shares a month. Based on an average Mannkind employee making $90K a year... not hard to imagine since most of their employees are in CT and CA. The average is probably closer to $110K+. Someone correct me if I'm way off.
I would say achieving half that number is ambitious. We'll set the goal at 50K shares a month.
Sounds bullish to me...

"such individual is actually providing services to the Company as an employee, consultant and/or Director"
Not limited to executives/directors.

"such individual is actually providing services to the Company as an employee, consultant and/or Director" Not limited to executives/directors. 4. ELIGIBILITY. Section 16 Insiders shall be eligible to participate in the Plan. 12 (r) “Section 16 Insider” means any Director, and any individual designated by the Board of Directors of the Company as an officer of the Company for purposes of Section 16 of the Exchange Act. I hadn't at first noted that (Thanks Boca). Given that, I think the real purpose is to provide a plan for regular purchases by insiders that gets around insider trading issues. Assuming there are actually a number of these Section 16 Insiders wishing to participate (and the number of shares is a meaningful amount of those made available), that is a quite positive thing. We just don't yet know how many are interested or how large the purchases will be.

According to the Wall Street Journal, there are now about 250. quotes.wsj.com/MNKD/company-people

Why limit it to 2mil shares? Seems minuscule for executives/directors at this SP. Especially since one picked up ~$1mil worth at $6SP not so long ago. Maybe Mr. Kresa wants to average down.
Thank you for finding the employee count. MY original guess was 400, but 1000 sounded so much better. Roughly 30% of employees are salesmen?

I also thought the 2M share limitation was low, but there has been very little insider buys with the exception of Kent’s big buy.
Mike bought a while back but most of us bought and hold many more times the amount Mike bought. I hope all of the execs step up the buying and the company adds additional shares to the plan. Dr. K said he would buy as soon as he got the “all clear” from legal.

I think if you read tea leaves the timing is very interesting. Nice to get the plan in place to avoid insider trading rules just a couple of weeks before ADA. My bet is you see some executive purchases before the big reveal.
Disclosure: I am long MNKD and am a desparate and underwater individual seeking a silver lining in anything they do.

Im right there with you. I do have the feeling that things are changing and that we may FINALLY have a return of the pendulum but im not sure if i just want to believe that or if its really happening. There is a big debate right now between my overconfident guts feeling and my cautious scientifically trained brain .

Like many of us, I suspect they're also aware that the rate of change could easily be much more than linear and possibly exponential--think tipping point. One tell could be whether "Afrezza as the Standard of Care" starts getting used more and more in the upcoming weeks post the STAT presentation.

Maybe this should be on a new thread, but what are company plans for immediate post-STAT?

Maybe this should be on a new thread, but what are company plans for immediate post-STAT? Plugging away getting new doctors to start prescribing would be my guess. I believe they hinted at possibility for advertising after ADA, but they really don't have the money to do that in any large way.

That's a bit Apples and Oranges if you talking about a real change in script trajectory vs management and people on proboards talking about the aspiration of Afrezza becoming a "Standard of Care"... we are currently a blip in side thought as to the standard of care for diabetes in US. It will take a long time and a lot of work to change that. I'm sure you'll be reading here a LOT about SOC, but that is a "tell" only in it is people "telling" themselves their investment will pay off eventually. Hopefully we get some real evidence of a trajectory change and real sustained growth in NRx... or meeting the low end of revenue guidance will start slipping from the grasp of the possible. No inspirational talk of becoming SOC will change that.

If the medical community starts talking about it--which might start showing up in social media and on-line documentation, then...

Not that i disagree with you dbc but what is your definition of a ''long time'' and is that your personnal opinion that it is going to be long to change SOC or is it a fact that you can prove and back with numbers and exemples? Seems to me that if the results of a new treatment are good, the SOC can change pretty ''quickly''. For me 1 or 2 years from now is reasonnable once everyone are convince of the benefits. We are doing 1 days surgeries now that wouldnt have been possible a couple of years ago. Once the ball start rolling, it can accelerate real fast. we just have to convince the good persons. Imho
