I keep reminding people that Pharmasset went for $11 B with a drug only through Ph II clinical trials. And more recently Idenix was sold to Merck for 3.8B. They have a Hep C Drug which just completed Phase 2 trials. This is for a Hep C market with limited patent population (170m worldwide). And for Hep C the market is already controlled by Gilead's Sovaldi with a 75% share of prescriptions, and Gilead's drug, Sovaldi has few if any side effects. In fact prescriptions shot up for Hep C a few hundred percent from year ago totals in May since Solvadi went on the market this year. And also remember that this is for drug that is a cure for Hep C (as good as it gets for patients) but for investors/Merck there is no reoccurring revenue stream as a business... And yet Merck paid 3.8B two months ago. Our market is 400m and growing and diabetes has no known cure so the revenue stream is reoccurring...

Just for fun...it would be a matter of time before MNKDT would be established for trading purposes. Assuming the deal came through exactly as described by hammer, what do you think MNKDT would trade at on the first day of trading?

Hammer, First, welcome on board! I wonder whether you have any inside info leading you to such a conclusion or it is just your dream-up idea? Again, thanks for sharing your thought. Sorry no. I'm just trying to put the puzzle together like everyone else, guessing what the puzzle looks like before its finished.

Hammer,
Nice job getting everyone all amped up after last weeks hit pieces. I hope your right. My only comment is that Al Mann has said several times, I think even at the recent ASM, that no matter who the deal is struck with, that Mannkind would remain as the manufacturer of Afrezza. My take is that he wants to keep the Technosphere technology proprietary. Maybe your forecasted royalty will be a manufacturer's royalty.

Hammer's in the house!! Thanks for posting, as you can see...no issues getting it posted Great posting and interesting valuation. I personally have stated many times that it will be the combo SNY & MDT package with the recent purchase of COV by MDT having been planned for many months as had the partnership of SNY & MDT was to handle the purchase of MannKind. I think that it gets interesting with the Obama administations recent push to deal with Tax Inversions has stalled the announcement of the MannKind. If I was a betting Man my guess is the deal will be done before the Conference call date. MNKD Mgmt has planned this all along and it has been very transparent to the folks who listened to the various public presentations in May and June. I find it interesting that Pfefer was traveling or out of the office the this week as reported on the Facebook page site or elsewhere. My take on that is that they were working behind the scenes finalizing the deal and getting ready for announcement. I am excited and hoping for the SNY & MDT (COV) version.
