Thought it was horrible! Sand in the throat , and dirty looks from the lady next to me on the plane , just to begin with. Doesn’t seenm to take the advancement seriously it's learn to inhale insulin, or learn to tolerate feeling like this. you decide, or the way we do it, physicians and insurance companies get to decide how type ones feel. This is life on a rapid acting subq insulin. This can be life on afrezza with follow up doses. Afrezza users say, "I feel better." I can not image how hard I would work to get on afrezza, just to feel good.

I thought I remembered seeing Dr. Kendall calculation that 4 units of afrezza will drop Blood glucose 30 mg/dl. Dr. Pettus is giving a rule of thumb 4 units will drop a blood glucose 40mg/dl. He is showing sensitivity factors. agedhippie ? tell me about sensitivity factors please. It's the correction factor. When you are higher than you want to be you need to take insulin to return to baseline. My correction factor is 1:30, one unit will drop me 30 points so if I am at 190 and want to return to 100 I take 3u of insulin for a 90 point drop. It';s the inverse of your I:C ratio multiplied by your carb sensitivity (carb sensitivity is typically between 3 and 4). I am not sure what he is saying in that slide except that the answer to what to take is always 4u, that makes me nervous. I think he is simplifying and assuming you have an empty stomach otherwise you need to look at carb absorption rate as well to see how long the carbs you ate are going to take to clear. I think I need to watch this video. The accelerator in FIASP is vitamin B3.

At the bottom of the video, it is marked as "Unlisted" and very few views (214). I entered the title and searched & this video did not show up.

Ditto. I don't get it. Why doesn't it come up on youtube when I search for the title?

At the bottom of the video, it is marked as "Unlisted" and very few views (214). I entered the title and searched & this video did not show up. My point/question was if the video was for private viewing only, not intended for public viewing. Then, I found it on google. studio300.org/2014/03/11/private-vs-unlisted-on-youtube/When uploading a video to YouTube, you can change the privacy settings for that video to Public, Private, or Unlisted. Public is the default setting and that means anybody can see your video. Private means only those you invite to view the video can view it (they must have their own Youtube accounts and the maximum number is 50 usernames). Your video will not come up under any search results or your channel list. If you try to share it with someone who wasn’t invited, they will not be able to connect to it. Unlisted means your video will not come up in search results or on your channel either. Only those who know the link can view it, and you can share the link with anyone, even those who do not have a YouTube account/username. This means that this video could still be seen by anyone, but only if they guess the link! Why did they not set it as "Public"?

Maybe it was just an error. Why not contact TCOYD and ask. Maybe they will change it.

So only a few million patients left to go... I see no reason why MannKind cannot put an "Diabetes in the News" page on their website with direct links to stories and videos like this. Other pharmaceutical companies do it and don't get sanctioned by the FDA.

Their web developer has the updates to the news page and the pipeline page, but he won’t release them until he gets his bonus for delivering them late and over budget. 🤣

I do hope you are joking... He must have been joking. Dr. Pettus had a very large crowd fully engaged. Picture that all over the country. A spoon full of humor along with some very easy to understand information. I loved his big picture comments on color coding and type of meal association versus the technical dosing calculations. Great explanation on how best to dial-in dosing. There was no spin and the head-on addressing of a possible cough that subsides overtime made the talk that much more credible. Dr. Pettus is a rising star (Mike C, et al). Take heed Dr. K.
