From the San Fernando Valley Business Journal, see pages 1 and 36. www.lightgablerlaw.com/pdf/news/19/SFVBJ_2019-04-01.pdfQuick highlights: - "You'll see MannKind Diabetes on the car, pre-events, posts-events" - Michael Castagna
- "You'll start to see MannKind evolve in this world (high-profile influencers/athletes with diabetes). We're going to be a consumer-driven company" - Michael Castagna
- "The fact that Daly has Type 1 diabetes makes this a great fit and creates an interesting narrative" - Dan Kahn (Kahn Media Inc)
- "This is a tougher sell and aimed at a really specific audience, so if they can execute a PR program making Daly a 'poster boy' for diabetics and how they can literally do anything with a little help from an inhaler, it could work well" - Dan Kahn

1. Lately sports' posts are blank on my android phone. Not sure why?
2. Pardon my language but why the HELL are they putting mannkind on the car. They should use all the space available to them to to advertise Afrezza. We aren't advertising to stroke MC's ego, we are trying to increase the awareness of our only product.

Mannkind is sponsoring the car and driver not Afrezza. Just like Mannkind was sponsor to LA Kings. See very tiny at bottom of ad dome - The Makers of Afrezza....

You are right! Maybe Afrezza is not as fast! LOL IDK if I'd want to drive a race car with VIAGRA stamped all over it. Then I'm women so - What do I know!

I like the idea, or concept of the idea, and the tie to speed, but Indy is simply too limited an audience and too expensive an environment.
We need an Oprah type deal where the sponsor is an investor, but also a user advocate of the product with mass awareness and mass appeal. This deal doesn't achieve those ends. Having been involved in several such deals with national brands, this appears to be a rookie deal. As long as they are willing to entertain other further reaching options and don't just come to the N of 1 conclusion that endorsement deals don't work vs their deal just didn't work, they'll be okay.
If MC is serious about being more consumer oriented/facing then he needs to look at OTC or consumer brand marketing campaigns and structures vs. a big pharma approach.
And, yes, of course, any such campaigns would need to pass FDA approval

I really like they are pursuing athletes and think it better than tv commercials. 👍🏻

Does becoming a "consumer driven company" imply there is a new direction in store for the marketing and commercialization effort for Afrezza? I hope it doesn't mean another reboot, and another 3-6 months for the new program to have an effect on scripts, but better now than later if the ads didn't work.

"Consumer driven" is a euphemism for "we give up hoping that doctors will drive the adoption of afrezza"

Or.. maybe it's Daly, he's driving the car, so it's consumer driven!
