I used to love checking out the volume threads, it usually meant there was price action. These low volume days have been odd. Does anyone have any thoughts on why volume has dried to a trickle and what may be the cause behind it?

I would guess a warrant holder sold short many of these cals for permium similar to holding a covered call position. The warrants act as a hedge incase the stock price runs up. These are not likely bullish. |

2.3 million shares changed hands. 31,000 shares on the ask side for $1.06. Pathetic! In my humble opinion MannKind does not have the resources to combat the attack launched by the B.P.'s. The amount of money required to continually short this share price is minuscule. We need either a block buster press release or a Partner with deep pockets. Status quo is failing.. In closing, stupid me I almost double downed and yes and I as a blue collar work am down a substantial amount of money. In until the end. No choice...

Completely agree re: the pocket change of big pharma or other competing stakeholders being used to short this stock out of existence. It has its best news day in a long time, and still, the stock is down. In this case, it's not "sell the news," it's "demoralize" the market. It's psychological warfare, like, "How could this stock be down on such a good news day? There must be something somebody knows or it must just really suck." None of which I believe to be true, but the powers that be will not make it easy for MNKD to achieve success. That is, unless one of them sees the value in owning it. |

agree. saw a 250,000 share block trade at the ask (1.06$) without moving the needle a penny.

Now down to $1.04 ... the shorts are pretty good in what they do. Yesterday they knockout a +5 cent gain back down to even at the end of day. I don't know about you ... but, I don't see MNKD going bankrupt. What I see is a chance to load up cheap shares. This is a long term stock ... and even I am tempted to start day trading again. But, volume is too low and I'm painting my fence. Ha! Brazil news is great ! More news to follow at CC. I love it !!!
