Personally, I like good QTR call on Monday so that the momentum carries on the entire week. on the other hand, a bad one is on Friday with the weekend to soak in. I hope, MNKD will announce a first shipment to Brazil. i believe that’s a good possibility. Brazil has still not approved pricing for Afrezza (as of today). I check for an updated government price list every few days and will post it when it updates. It gets revised about once a month, but it varies sometimes. The last update was July 1 so another update is due soon. Regulated pricing in a place like Brazil has as much to do with foreign exchange controls as it does with healthcare costs, so I wouldn't expect that the product could get off the wharf or airport without the government approved price being set.

Middle of the week. Does the timing mean anything? Never has before, doesn't matter what day of the week, before or after market. I wouldn't expect anything different this time. In the past the thinking is if there is good news the conference calls are usually premarket and at beginning of the week and if there's bad news it's usually latter part of the week and after market... Since it's at mid week and after market maybe it's meh news....

Other than that, it doesn't seem to matter, most tech leaders do AH, a lot of DOW staples do PM. For whatever reason, MannKind seems to do both PM and AH, but there hasn't been any discernible pattern for indicating good/bad earnings.

So no major PRs before call does that mean, same old, same old, kick the can conference call? Without any PRs will Mike actually have anything to say that's going to get this sp going?

That’s my expectation, yes. But, I also think blockbuster news with any company’s earnings report is uncommon. They’ve been offering small PRs for the last few weeks for what those are worth. I expect the 3Q earnings report to be more consequential because by then Mannkind should have important debt information, and possibly milestone and unidentified molecule information. It’s also likely Brazil pricing will have been determined and perhaps some idea what sales there might look like, which I don’t expect to be a strong profit driver but perhaps a helpful for defraying COGS..

My feeling is that there is no news today.. it usually gets leaked and obviously that hasn't happened..
Mike said that he would have some announcements before CC that should move the SP.. that hasn't happened either..
Guessing we have to wait a bit longer.. 😞 In the meantime shorts are going to be all over this.. hope I'm dead wrong.

There is no requirement to issue a PR before an announcement. Usually a PR is issued with an announcement. If you put out a PR ahead of the announcement then your announcement loses it's impact which is not what you want.

I suspect he was hoping the collaboration agreement with OneDrop would move the needle. He has a record of anticipating large swing in SP only to be disappointed and surprised along with the rest of us.

But how are you going to get any stock impact if you don’t PR it?...it’s not like were Apple and we can say, “just one more thing:-)” there’s nobody covering us.

If he hasn’t learned by now that PRs with no tangible details/upfront money aren’t going to move the needle, we’re in big trouble.

You have to issue a PR, but if you want to have maximum impact then do both together. Really they ought to issue a lot more releases because all you need to do is catch an editor somewhere with a gap to fill to get a story out.
