It sounds like it is just a clinic for diabetic care to me.. Whatever it is we should hear about it in Mike's presentation at Wainwright next week. It could be a great setup for a partner to come in with a complementary service for diabetics, PAH or other med. Who knows? It could even be an opportunity for the ever mysterious RLS. At least Mike is thinking outside the box. It could follow the VDEX model to some degree while retaining the kind of control Mike wants.

"ALTERARI" in Portuguese translates to "CHANGE" in English. -- from Google Translate
"ALTERARI HEALTH CLINIC" sounds pretty cool for a new way of doing things.

This is all speculation but copying vdex isn't exactly thinking outside the box.

Thank you for making some sense out of the name. PORTUGUESE. To be used in Brazil? I could not figure out the word... in Portuguese/ (Spanish.) To Alter, Alterar Alterari.

There seem to be two main meanings. I've no idea which meaning is more popular / common. Hope this isn't a case where some English speaker picked the wrong word to use in a foreign market.
Portuguese-English
alterar [awteˈrar] transitive verb 1. (mudar) to alter 2. (falsificar) to falsify alterar-se reflexive verb 1 (mudar-se) to change 2 (enfurecer-se) to lose one's temper

from Wiktionary:
alterari
Latin Edit Verb Edit alterārī 1. present passive infinitive of alterō
Verb Edit altero 1. first-person singular present indicative form of alterar
Italian Edit Alternative forms Edit * • altiero (archaic) Etymology 1 Edit Derived from alto (“high, tall”), from Latin altus, ultimately from Proto-Indo-European *h₂el- (“to grow; to nourish”).

Please note that the sections have the descriptions of the International codes. MannKind may not be involved in most of these activities and there is nothing specific that indicates what they are planning.

It could be that VDex may have given them the idea, especially after Bill stated that there had been international parties interested in having VDex demonstrate their clinical model. MannKind may not have the same restrictions in some countries that they have in the United States but I agree with Sports' assessment that we should not read too much into this move by management.

VDex posted a short tweet today: "Exciting times.." Any connections? No, stay tuned :-) and by the way stock twits has gone crazy again.. listen to this! Whiskeyqueen...$MNKD starting to think Vdex and Bill were aware of the plan mnkd had for opening it's own clinics..Hence the movement and constant banter towards management. Times perfectly. Not an ounce of truth to it! fishindamarket2 Sep 6th, 1:15 pm @whiskyqueen yep. And I think Leanne is involved in this conspiracy too. I’ve been here eight years and I don’t post BS, because BS comes back to bite you in the ass. I don’t care if it’s on a message board or in a email it catches up to you. There are people that block people that say things they don’t like ..so I guess you could say the truth just might set you free.
