Ok, this is just too weird. I have watched my other small Bio-Tech mirror a similar price action as MNKD for quite some time now. This morning they both jumped up similar amounts ~$0.24 or so completely out of the blue for no real reason. It just surprises me that completely different companies share price act so similar. Right now both have taken a dip going into the lunch hour MNKD is up $0.14 and mine is up $0.11. The charts are eerily similar today in particular. Can any of you "chartists" explain this? Ha, well, I'm not a chartist, but I will try to answer your question with a little humor. Years ago, a friend told me about a book she read where monkeys on an island had just learned to wash sweet potatoes. Shortly afterward, somehow, the monkeys on all the surrounding islands also started washing their sweet potatoes. Like the author suggested about the monkeys, maybe your two stocks have a " Cosmic Consciousness" between them??? Or, maybe the CEO's of the two companies are monkeys???

As frustrating as it might be, consolidation is good. Having the folks accumulating and those selling fight it out after each major jump, established a new base. I would prefer a rocket ship to the moon, but when that happens, the price can come crashing down very quickly. It appears that today there is nice consolidation going on.

I think this run up is related to the efforts to prop up the price for warrant exercise.
The holder may be shorting against the warrants and that is a lot of shares, so the SP most likely will be flat or down in the process...
The real SP upward moves, that are sustainable, can only be expected near term when we see any of the following:
better Afrezza sales (US or exUS) positive news about UTHR TreT study progress or completion (2H 2020) submission of TreT for FDA approval (Q4 2020 or Q1 2021) start of pediatric final study ( hopefully Q4 2020) new TS partnership
I am expecting SP to rise firmly above $2 and stay there only when UTHR submits TreT for FDA approval, and that is 6 to 9 months away.
Once TreT is approved, then it's a different ball game and market cap should be priced to reflect at least Afrezza development cost (1.5 to 3 billion). Why, because when company makes their first $ from product sales and royalties, it would mean that Afrezza market share can only go up and cannot be stopped, as MNKD will be expanding sales and marketing infrastructure accordingly with profits. If Afrezza cannot be stopped, that automatically creates a different asset valuation.
The window for short sellers to settle their trade is between now and TreT approval.

I’m honestly wondering if the Tret-T approval is not already priced in at this time. With about $36M Aftezza sales plus estimated $40M trep sales valued at 5x revenue = market cap of $380M which is about what it currently is

As I understand it, warrant holders that want to sell-for-profit would short before buying the warrants (locking in price), then close out the short with warrant shares. Since the SP has had multiple days over 1.90, and the warrants are void in a week, this is likely already happening. But judging by the volume around the peaks, all 6M shares may not be shorted yet.
If the warrant holder wanted to keep the shares then they would just use the warrants whenever.
I can't wait for this stock to not have warrants hanging over it

MNKD Nasdaq real time volume, 3,895,865 shares. MNKD Nasdaq summary volume, 6,961,771 shares Avg. Volume 2,417,696
1.8300-0.0300 (-1.61%) At close: 4:00PM EDT
The volume coming in during the morning hours, dropping off in the afternoon, yesterday and today. It looks like buyers/short covering. Europe closes at 11:30 eat? Volume has been dropping off after Europe closes.

I think today was a good day. Heavy volume left the share price above $1.80. I like the steady rise and consolidation process we are seeing. I do not think this is a run up to an offering. I think the ADA helped this year as Mnkd has been continuously publishing new studies. I think that is finally starting to gain traction with doctors and institutional investors. I think finally, the share price will rise and be less susceptible to manipulation.

And if someone in Europe is trading MNKD on the U.S. market exchange, then the closing in Europe shouldn't affect their trading in the U.S.
