It wouldn’t necessarily have to be hostile.

Less than a billion to acquire MNKD?? A theoretical purchase of MNKD based on current market cap is not the way a buyout would work. Would enjoy seeing that offer just to put the company in play and see what followed. That would get interesting indeed. Hate to break it to you, but valuation in public companies in M&A comes from their respective market cap. Whether or not the board accepts the offer is another question, but 3x market cap is EXTREMELY generous. The average acquisition premium of a public company is 30-50%. The highest ever in biopharma is 5x.

And there is a poison pill. They could simply inflate the number of shares in the event of an attempted hostile takeover. The way to go is to use several entities, each to gather 4.99% until you reach a controlling interest and then you can use your shares to obtain influence and appoint board members who are under your control. Then you can use them to negotiate a deal that benefits you. It’s a long game, like the Chinese play.

Would still enjoy seeing an opening bid of a Billion

I too would enjoy seeing news of $1B offer...

Haha, yeah that would be great news. Opening bid would be more in the $500M range realistically.
This is a fun convo but moot. If any of these companies wanted us, it would’ve happened by now.

Yup, might as well fold up shop now....... Don’t know why you’d wanna do that. Your choice whether to hold onto unrealistic dreams of angel BPs swooping in with multi-billion dollar buyout offers. Some of us remember those discussions years ago. Back then it wasn’t such an unrealistic valuation (since our market cap was over a $Bil). It was fun to dream then, so go right ahead if it makes you feel better now.

Won't be so easy, and if there will be an hostile offer won't be 30% 50% of actual market cap BTW.. won't happen...

Yeah mean like selling of 20% of the shares for mil40$ and then ask for 30% more operative shares.. hmm it would be alarming if that happened..

Where's everyone? Nothing on other treads. Did all the members sold and moved on to better stocks? Too quiet, kind a scary.

It would cost Amgen, Pfizer, Sanofi or anybody else less than a billion $ to simply acquire MNKD, so if they saw multiple drug value potential in Technosphere wouldn’t that be the play they’d make? That is the million dollar question. I have scaled back my position as their have/had been a plehora or other stocks that werw presenting a FANTASTIC buying opp. Still personally love Japanese and US reits. Hotels and Malls while currently unloved with bounce back. Shelter in place sucks, and people want to get out. The Japanese REIT index bottomes at 1100 something in the middle of March, only to be sitting at near near 1700 as of today. Near 50% return in less than 3 months. Smiles. Still more to go as the index was at 2200, prior to C-19 and the high expectations of the Olympics. 2021 is the year baby. Buying all I can, hope our MNKD does something soon, or might be tempted to sell my core!!
