Any idea what their jobs were? Maybe they were all in CA which is why the HQ is moving to Danbury. They didn't have an excessive number of employees before the layoff. I hope they weren't afrezza salespeople. Quotes from yesterday's call below. One could suggest that sales agents in non-viable territories may have been let go through 'optimizing'. The other suggests that at least some reps remain. So, who knows. "As you look at 2022, we've optimized our Afrezza footprint to make sure all of our sales are territories are viable and they have positive growth potential." "So the more confidence we have that COVID is not resurging and our reps aren’t going to be locked out of offices, the more confidence we’ll have in terms of continuing to build back up on that sales force, as we get a new team in place, we have all new marketers, all new managers really good focused team here driving us forward on Afrezza." I think you’re the one that’s probably going to remember… remember when I posted some of my favorite reps got laid off. And yes they were full-time and had been with the company for years. But I was told new contact reps were also hired and I see many jobs posted on LinkedIn. The contact reps would not be using any cars. Although I personally heard nothing about cars. But the contact rep thing is a cheaper way to go although there are some long time reps that are definitely still there… they come and service us at Vdex and they have for a long time. We interact on LinkedIn. They are great.

I'm getting an impression from what I've been reading -- laying off reps, moving the headquarters to Danbury, filing for an offering, selling the Danbury plant -- is that it is as though they were "hunkering down," as if preparing for something significantly bad.

I know you discussed it but I don’t believe it’s accurate. www.newstimes.com/business/article/Connecticut-s-second-largest-pharmaceutical-16788660.php DANBURY — On the heels of heralded headquarters moves from New York to Stamford, Connecticut has another transplant — this time in Danbury, though municipal officials are already familiar with the corporation that now calls the city home. MannKind is now designating Danbury as principal executive office in filings with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, with the company having long operated an insulin packaging plant there. Last week, CEO Michael Castagna confirmed the company now regards Danbury as its headquarters during a virtual conference sponsored by investment bank H.C. Wainwright. A spokesperson said Wednesday the company made the decision considering a major expansion under way at its Danbury plant and the facility’s “increasing strategic importance” to the company. The company did not provide immediate comment on whether executives will be moving cross-country to Danbury. Inventor and entrepreneur Alfred Mann founded MannKind in the Los Angeles area, and stepped down as CEO in 2015, a year before his death at age 90. MannKind’s office is in Westlake Village at the base of the Santa Monica Mountains. [Much more at link, with a lot of ads between paragraphs.]

"I Red an article on "thepressfree" that the 30 unit are cars rented, the rest of the article is pure trash a kind of Diogene's Bs...". I red again the article is not referring to 30unit but to a kind of rented cars, looks like to be used by employees, quote "If MannKind investors had been paying attention, they could have seen this cutback was already in the cards. When MannKind filed their 3rd-Q, 2021, SEC report investors could have seen that MannKind had drastically canceled their lease vehicles for their sales representatives." Btw the article is full of misconceptions starting from the Afrezza sales trajectory, clearly done to hit Mannkind, maybe to encourage some to buy/sell short.

I can’t find “thepressfree” to read the article to which you refer, can you provide a link? It sounds like they were correct if they forecasted the 30 employees being let go. What were the misconceptions about Afrezza sales trajectory? There would be no need for inaccuracies if they were trying to paint that trajectory as dismal.

thepressfree.com/mannkind-what-do-pfizer-sanofi-and-mannkind-have-in-common/ This is the link. When they describe Afrezza scripts forecast they forget or they pretend to forget the free goods/cash program... I presume "In Q4, all of the 989 patients coming in Q4 '21. This is our first step into removing friction in the reimbursement model and making sure that patients starting Afrezza and doctors prescribing Afrezza can have a great experience. This starts the reimbursement process, sometimes they roll into free goods, which is FG/paid prescriptions on cash program, and you can see we're almost up to 1,000 patients in that 1,000 scripts, I guess, for the quarter in that free goods/cash program. So we continue to see exponential growth in the cash payments every month."

Why move the headquarters if the exec team is going to stay put? I would say the state of CT was probably offering tax savings for companies to move their HQ. With COVID the last 2 years companies were probably bailing out of the NE.

Why move the headquarters if the exec team is going to stay put? Only 1 answer. It will somehow save money.
