1. Yes there are hurdles that MNKD can achieve without SNY, Matt in one of the conference calls talked about getting the equipment certified. SNY didn't go into this agreement not to make sales. There are many mutually agreed terms regarding the efforts SNY will make towards sales. 2. Yes there are commitments we heard that on a previous conference call. 3. We spoke about the loan and the size of the loan. Matt made it clear that the $175 million was much more than they will ever need. He didn't mention an exact number but said that if you knew him, you would know that the $175 million was much more thanks projected to need. Wow, Maybe you really did speak with Matt, these answers sound just like the non specific , dodge the question, BS answers that Matt comes up with.

Plans for expansion.
From what i read, Matt stated that they will be potentailly looking to expand production in 6 months.
Was that six from today or six from the start of production?
What would be the new capacity post this expansion?
When will these details be confirmed?
Thanks,
OOG

Did you ask him if he's ever been in a turkish prison? Or if he's ever seen a grown man naked? Or if he likes movies about gladiators? Or if he ever hangs around gymnasiums? Thanks in advance. Some "Airplane" humor... now that thar's funny. I regularly email Matt. Not once has he failed to reply. He must speak in hypotheticals (for legal reasons) but we both read between each others' lines pretty well. I might start "hypothetically" answering some of these questions. First, though, I want to get his take on insider buying... all hypothetical of course (chuckle).

I'll start with what Matt wrote about production. This was not hypothetical, but a straight answer. Matt expects three fill/finish lines to be ready (& CMC qualified) on time. The two new lines are faster than the first line, and are being tested as we speak. At his last conference (Morgan Stanley) Matt specifically mentioned CMC in connection with milestone payments. I asked him about that and he replied "Good catch. I was trying to hint that many milestones may be happening quickly." Regarding expansion, Matt replied that further expansion would come as the result of EU launch. As he explained by obamayoumama, Matt also told me that sitting down with Sanofi and planning the expansion had to wait until HSR was completed (he wrote this only a few days before HSR expired, but he did not give me the expiration date in advance, for obvious reasons). Matt wrote that they were forbidden from planning with Sanofi until after HSR. This makes sense, since the purpose of HSR is to look for antitrust violations. Advanced planning without approval would, itself, be a violation. In fact, getting the current three lines ready for commercial launch was implied because of that specific production milestone spelled out in the license agreement. The agreement can and does specify sales milestones, but they were prevented/forbidden from planning a sales & production schedule by HSR. I'll write more later, some of which will be my analysis or my "reading between the lines", especially regarding how the EU launch and FDA approval of Toujeo fits into Sanofi's strategy and what I believe to be the reason for the "controlled launch". You may be delighted to learn that is is NOT because of concerns over production capacity. I have to head over to the neighbor's man-cave for the Vikings vs. Packers game (I am a Minnesotan). I'm sure some of you football fanatics understand.

Ouch! Well, now everyone knows why Christian Ponder is our 3rd string QB. Losing #1 Matt Cassell for most of the season and then losing #2 Teddy Bridgewater for one week was brutal. Congrats, Pack. We'll get you next time...if the waterboy isn't QB by then...

When will advertising/marketing start & how will it be done? Matt said that usually biotechs usually wait for about six months after the launch to do "direct to consumer advertising" because the doctors will want to know about the drugs before their patients start asking about a drug. He didn't know the specifics on SNY plans for the "direct to consumer" advertising.
