Just a semi related note. Friday I sold 30 $6 Feb 17 puts at a limit of $0.10 with the stock trading at 5.50. TD Ameritrade stole the puts and filled the sell at $.10. This is disgusting and ecause of this I'm moving my 75k shares and everything else to IBB. This is by no means an endorsement of IBB but for me, what Ameritrade did is beyond low;besides, IBB margin rates seem much better. The catch is that MNKD has to be over $5 for IBB to accept stock.

What am I missing, ceda? You put a sell in at .10 and it executed at .10? Why is this disgusting?

Same question. Why even place that trade?

Volume is ok at 920K shares traded 1.5 hours into the day, but down .20 cents (-3.6%). Dow is down over 400, S&P and NASDAQ also down significantly. C'est la guerre.

I've been with IBB for years, no complaints but they're definitely not for everyone, meaning they're very "ala carte" and not too customer service friendly but they are the lowest cost in a lot of areas.

~1M shares traded in the last 3 hours. Looks unlikely we retest $5.10 again (thank goodness).

I'm naively hoping we're being shorted to shake shares loose on stop-loss sales in preparation for a launch tomorrow or Friday morning.

Agree. And cedafuntennis, it still hasn't been made clear what TDA did to upset you. It appears from your post that your trade was executed as you requested. Also not clear why you were seemingly trying to essentially pay $5.90 per share for 3000 MNKD shares.

So we finally get some volume…and we drop over 6%. Very frustrating.

Down .36 for the day. *sigh*
Methinks we’ve been manipulated again.
I’m hopeful tomorrow’s UTHR earnings report reverses today’s trend but it does disappoint me that we’re back below $5.50 again.

If the shares get put you, couldn’t you just sell them right away if you have used margin. I’d really like to see someone lay out an actual trade in real time that they do…that would be really interesting. If MNKD is down or flat tomorrow I might consider selling a put. Actually thinking I may have made mistake not jumping in today. I know you are knowledgeable on options so pardon the details I'm providing for those that may not have options experience... "you" being "any investor". At close, the bid on $5 strike Jan 2024 put was $0.85. Since you get the $0.85, you are only risking $4.15 per share. If the price stays above $5, you've earned $0.85 on $4.15 "investment", not to mention you can invest the premium in a money market fund in the meantime and earn about 4.5% on it. That's 20.48% return in 11 months... 22.34% annualized, plus a bump of about 1% extra for the money market interest on the premium. And you only lose money if the price drops below $4.15 (or actually a tiny bit better if counting interest you get on premium), so that means no loss unless the stock price drops 21.25% from where it is now. Potential for 23% annualized return with 21% downside protection. The ^VIX is pretty high right now, making this sort of trade this attractive. Great thing is that you make really amazing return even with flat or slightly down market... but of course capping your upside. For those unfamiliar with options, a single contract represents 100 shares. So if one sells 1 contract at $0.85 bid, you are immediately paid $85 per contract and have $415 at risk. If you don't have a margin account you'd need $415 per contract in cash to execute the trade. Addendum... one small downside of this trade is that even if you were to pick a strike more than a year out and hold it until it expires, the IRS still considers that as short term capital gains, not long term.

Friday and today are more like what I have been expecting if the upcoming quarterly is what were expecting it to be. Volatility and volume is the only way to reset 30 million short shares in my opinion. {Big Candles}
