This may be a silly old-timer thing, and the fact that there was a tailor in my family, but I have always thought (and it was confirmed by ZZ Top) that a "sharp-dressed man" is impressive.  I wish I had the money for an Armani.  I would dearly love to have a couple of those in my wardrobe.  I remember watching a documentary on Ronald Reagan that made a note of how great Reagan appeared standing next to a shabbily-dressed Gorbachev.  Sometimes your appearance and how you dress is important.
