After the Peds FDA approval I would like to see a new commercial go something like this. A young teenager is loading the Afrezza inhaler for her Mom and she says, "Mom I love my new diabetes medication though the inhaler and my A1c just dropped to it's best value ever. Let me show you how it's done so that you can see how easy it is since you just got your Rx filled by your doctor. I have been wanting you to start using Afrezza too". The teen continues to show her Mom how to use the inhaler and they both look at each other and smile and her Mom says, "You were right it's so easy! I never thought it would be so easy and with the results you were getting I can't wait to see my time in range go down too."

Sorry my bad, I should have stated see you time in range improve not go down. My error. On a funny note you could also have the young daughter tell her mother, "You won't have to fight, fight, fight with you diabetes anymore.

What we do know is DTC advertising will not sell afrezza even with flying hamburgers. There are about 1500 certified pediatric endocrinologists in the United States. Its a very small targeted group which key account reps can easily target. For DTC there are a number of social media groups. Some place in this interview is some good info on pharma commercials and what their real purpose is. tuckercarlson.com/the-case-against-ozempic

Now if you just incorporate some flying hamburgers (or pizzas, for uvula), we might even have an "award winning" ad!

I’m with management in waiting for pediatric approval and a label change before going all out on promotions. Every customer who fails on Afrezza because of underdosing or insurance denied is one we’ve potentially lost forever. Jmho

Even assuming the "best ever" A1c is referring to post diabetes diagnoses, there would need to be clinical trials specifically designed to show A1c superiority before FDA allows the claim to be stated or implied in a commercial.

That’s true, ktim. But remove “best ever” and it probably passes, right? Just saying it drops would seem allowable. But do we get to keep the flying burgers?

Yup, whatever the TV (or Internet) commercial might show, the FDA is going to want to have a say in approving it. And, they can be pretty picky. You can tell because most drug commercials are inane.

Here is an idea for the commercial. Why not tract a real teens A1c and time in range, not use actors and just tell the Truth? Can you imagine a commercial where the drug company is actually telling the truth.

I love this topic. We used to have great conversations about it and some really creative imagery for things like the Afrezza Army. I will recommend doing a little search for the FDA's Direct To Consumer (DTC) advertising guidelines and procedures for when FDA pre-approval is required (and will try to rediscover those myself). It will help with what we suggest here.

In a house a child runs chased by a large syringe... he runs, pants and runs and finally reaches the kitchen, catches his white and blue Dreamboat and inhales quickly... the syringe at that point desperately falls to the ground and disintegrates....
At that point the message "Needless is just one of the many benefits" appears on the screen, then some data scrolls showing reaction time, AC1 etc etc....
at the end, on the screen, precautions etc etc ...
For the second part I still have to read the FDA rules for marketing (sorry)...... "just one of the many benefits" not sure can be posted....
