I do not think she is against Afrezza for nefarious reasons, but rather because of her real agenda, which is that diabetics should eat a low carb diet. She sees Afrzza as enabling diabetics to eat carbs more freely which is bad. Then she has some fun with lung cancer. She is right about low carb, but she is also a crackpot.

It seems like she views taking the injection as some strange badge of pride. It also seems she's somewhat of a masochist, and would be against anyone taking what she views as the "easy way out" I don't understand the stigma with injections. Why do people feel as if they've been defeated if they have to take a fucking shot? Are you THAT insecure? You have a disease -- own it! You managed to compromise your immune system to the point of confusion and now your immune system is attacking your pancreas. I realize you had help in suppressing your immune system -- I know Kellogg's played a major role in it (can y'all say, "Le'go my Eggo?!"), as did the farmers who fed their livestock antibiotics, as did your doctor for prescribing Prozac and Lipitor, as did your nutritionist for recommending vitamins and supplements, but in the end, a lot of it was up to you...
...and you let your health and immune system (and guard) down. And now you're suffering. At least admit it! Why are you hiding behind your Dreamboat? Come out and inject yourself like a "Mann!" Oh, that's right -- men wear pink now.
Just my 2c..

Another bias she is incorrect about is that T1's somehow cause their own disease. My nephew was just diagnosed as a T1 diabetic at age 8. He lives in Australia. His parents were very strict with his diet from infancy, including breast feeding. He was never allowed to drink soda and even juice was always very limited in favor of water. I am a big proponent of healthy eating, and I thought they were very strict about his diet. He still suddenly developed T1 diabetes.

I think she defines her core being as a diabetic rather than as a person with diabetes. The same phenomenon occurred with cochlear implants and the reaction of some in the deaf community. A percentage was offended that people assumed they wanted to hear. www.theatlantic.com/health/archive/2013/08/understanding-deafness-not-everyone-wants-to-be-fixed/278527/If I spent 15 years not being able to enjoy food and was suddenly given the opportunity to do so safely, I'd splurge a bit myself. I don't think there's any defamation case, Sam is a public figure now

They build lives around diseases and a small but often vocal minority find it had to accept improvements to their lives by advances.

Wow... didn't know it was the Lipitor I don't take and the eggos I don't eat that caused my autoimmune disease. This person is a grade a loon. She/He would probably blame people for being morally deficient and letting their guard down because they age. Someone needs to clue this person in that autoimmune diseases existed long before all of those supposed ills of modern society.

I picture her as the kind of person you don't want to invite to a dinner party!

Listen, they've paid a pedophile, some tarot card reader, a political science nit who thinks he has a degree in molecular biology, forget Orellisinski's backround and quite a few other miscreants, so just add this one to the bunch...probably meets with Lily at yoga classes on Thursdays...umm nevermind, I really don't think Lily is the yoga type....and then of course there is always Schwimmer from Piper and our lone wolf at GS...seriously I don't know why the movie with Phyllis Diller's voice comes to mind, what was it Monster Mash?
