Matt said at the BOA meeting that production will have the ability to triple by June as well as the 12 units cartridge will be available. I have to assume the additional lines will be up and running. That might even qualify for another milestone payment, but that is just my speculation.

I think we might be getting ahead of ourselves? It's not as if 1, 2 or 3 lines can't tale up the near and medium term demand (sadly!). jpg - Killjoy!! I was thinking the same thing about this thread, problems that we can only hope to have! One week of with some good news (Matt's BofA presentation, the jerk Karp covering, GS doing whatever it is GS does), one day of a really nice stock rally, and we're talking bidding wars!! Even Spiro has stopped thinking that! Oh, and further good news is that our favorite Type 1 and Type 2 have met, and there was clearly admiration and mutual respect in their eyes! By the way, for those who haven't seen it, the 5/15 version of Nate's Notes is fantastic (check out the blog threads on this site), he's a fine writer and very bright, and he appears to very much despise AF. Makes for very enjoyable reading! Fugacity, re jacking the tech, I would think those that would want to do that, might already be in a position to do it. They may not get it just right through reverse engineering, but good enough for their purposes. You know what they say, "imitation is the sincerest form of flattery."

The lines are just for filling the cartridges, right? What about the Technosphere Insulin? Anyone have a clue what that entails?

With the recent talk of Saudi Arabia and several times Israel, it just makes sense that they are produced overseas. Hey, Us MNKD holders gotta take the positives when we get them. There were a lot of good tidbits last week and after months of silence, I think we are headed for better things. Yes, scripts have a long way to go, but Afrezza WORKS!

Please remember the certification of lines 2&3 is under fda. We all have learned and know that the fda, as with all gov. Agencies moves at the speed of a glacier! Establishing additional lines overseas, in comparison would look like a "walk in the park."

Why would it be necessary to, for the foreseeable future have overseas production? UPS and DHL would save us a bundle...

There must be a plan to build a factory in China, I know Amphastar is expanding in China, that was one of the props when we signed the manufacturing deal. I believe China likes it "made in China" Just think of the countries screaming for Afrezza already, there has to be work happening right now. I think we will know more after Afrezza is approved in Europe.

Here are some of Amphastars facilities, the one in Nanjing China was the one I was referring to. You can select several facilities to look at. I wouldn't be surprised if Amphastar becomes a big player when Afrezza is launched Globally. I'm buying some soon. We need to pay more attention to Amphastar, they will be involved for sure. www.amphastar.com/facilities.html

Here is another link about Sanofi purchasing the Diabel manufacturing plant in Frankfurt-Höchst, Germany. en.sanofi.com/Images/13955_20090608_diabel_en.pdfNote when people talk about all the Pfizer insulin Mannkind has on ice it was made at that plant and as seen here www.news.mannkindcorp.com/phoenix.zhtml?c=147953&p=irol-newsArticle&ID=1300930. "MannKind and Pfizer also entered into an agreement pursuant to which MannKind agreed to maintain and store the remainder of Pfizer’s bulk insulin inventory and acquired an option to purchase the remaining insulin, in whole or in part, at a specified price, to the extent that Pfizer has not otherwise disposed of or used the remaining insulin.". A few questions arise from this: 1) How much of that Pfizer insulin is left that Mannkind is storing for Pfizer(over the amount that they already purchased)? 2) The Diabel plant was retooled to create Lantus is it just a different form of e coli to produce the Pfizer insulin(Mannkind has a license to be able to produce the Pfizer insulin, Sanofi most likely does too.). Question now is it worth it to retool and get FDA approval for Pfizer insulin, or use some other insulin as the base? 3) Will there be an Afrezza plant built close to Sanofi's insulin production center in Germany?

That has been discussed in the past, many, many months ago, and I don't believe there was any definitive view. Unless it's 100% safe to use that old stuff, I'd prefer they burn it and go with just the fresher stuff. Last thing we want to do is shoot ourselves in the foot. If it's 98% safe, perhaps someone else would like to buy it from us.

Didn't MNKD buy a mountain of Human Insulin from Phizer at one time... ...Unless it's 100% safe to use that old stuff, I'd prefer they burn it and go with just the fresher stuff. Last thing we want to do is shoot ourselves in the foot.
tkogiyam- wouldn't shooting it require a needle? and baba, how come you did not come up with this 'whitty' retort ? :-)

Esstan, sometimes you gotta leave a little on the table. It's a funny business, if someone had told me in February that I'd be happy on a day the stock hit $4.25...

I think we will know more after Afrezza is approved in Europe. I would push for extreme caution when dealing with China/India. The sad thing about expanding in China/India, we might have to build a plant there in order to be able to sell Afrezza. I hope we find some way/method where we will not have to share knowledge of the Technosphere process, but knowing what we know about China, they'll end up copying it any way.
