coco, Since yours was a 1st time post, I'll give you the benefit of a doubt. All viewpoints are welcome here, but certainly they are subject to scrutiny; and it's not unreasonable to ask for substantiation. Most of us here are long, and I think ezra's comment nailed it as far as our sentiment: It's hard to believe that anyone who has been following MNKD for several years hasn't heard too much about "Hamburg and Brown". There have been countless YMB threads with thousands of posts on the subject in the last "several years". Now can we please discuss up pulmonary safety, falsified Russian trial data, and other issues of real concern? Because your 1st post came across as very negative, and bringing up a very old topic, many here will view it suspiciously. If you truly have been a long time long, this would be nothing new. And if it seriously bothers you, you can always get out of this stock.

Regardless of the original poster's position as a long or a short, the topic is nothing if not timely. Any potential for the director of the FDA to have a conflict if interest which would align her personal interests against the approval of Afrezza is worthy of consideration as far as I'm concerned. The fact that it is a longstanding issue doesn't make it invalid.

Thank you savzak!
I don't always come across the right way. I guess what I'm trying to say is this: You can post any viewpoint here - be prepared to support it. What I don't subscribe to is the "I'm going to pick up my toys and go home" attitude when challenged.

i don't buy that you have been following this for years and haven't read previous discussions on this topic, so it probably is better that you don't comment anymore. i hate to sound so harsh, but after so many purveyers of fud have come and gone on this highly shorted/contentious stock, it's hard to differentiate them from the naive- so they get lumped together. when i check the 2 boards, i'd like to either read thoughtful conversation or from people who have proven their long term commitment. plus i've recently gotten hooked on dexter and this is my own version of vigilante purging of the board. i didn't want to say those mean things.... i had to....it's part of the code haha..... no seriously i'm just on season 2 but it's so great.
now see, if someone told me to go eff myself for writing a post that contributed zero to the actual mnkd conversation, i'd be okay with that cuz they'd be right. but then again, i didn't make my first post look like fud either. hey liane, combine the two boards btw cuz i hate having to log into both! cheers, all. tonight's the night haha. -c

Margret Hamburg,FDA head purchases Mannkind shares (husband's hedge fund) Renaissance Technologies Now anybody smell a rat in this transaction. In the quarter ending 6/30/2014 Renaissance Technologies Corp 1,769,800 shares. 06/30/2014 NEW in the quarter ending. I guess they must have purchased in April 2014 after the stock tanked I wonder if the SEC would consider this a trade based on inside information. Google her 2009 appointment by Obama . Read about her husband's ties to this hedge fund and her ties to others. Our losses were her gains. investors.morningstar.com/ownership/shareholders-buying.html?t=MNKD®ion=usa&culture=en-US&ownerCountry=USAClick on on new institutional owners as of 6/30

But Hubby and Friends didn't and you just wonder what happens at cocktail parties and romantic nights with Hubby in the bedroom.

Undoubtedly they'd use the McDonnell defense... "she's my wife, so we hate each other so much we never talk"
Let's face it, we're talking about politicians and hedge fund managers... it's a very plausible defense.
