Do you mean the bounce that sucker investors bought because of a buyout rumor? I'm still waiting for real news... Cash upfront from a partnership would have been real. What we got instead was just interesting. I like what I heard from Matt, and he did gain a bit of credibility with following through on the partnership announcement. Hopefully we'll get more color next week. Someone (everyone?) should be checking Institutional buying. When they buy so should you. Institutions are selling: www.nasdaq.com/symbol/mnkd/institutional-holdings

There were almost as many new positions opened as sold out positions, and the shares purchased were 13 mil vs 17 mil closed out, this latest data is most likely reflecting the end of year tax loss selling, institutions have closed positions according to the numbers, that I agree with, but does it reflect the overall sentiment in MNKD, not at all, and certainly not at this time of year.

If you notice the two days this week that we had higher volume, 11 million and 18 million shares traded, there was very little of the shanigans like stacking shares on the ask to slow the momentum, etc., it seems it is more difficult to do when the volume is higher and there is real buying. It was just the large sale on the last trade both days that brought the price down some. There was one difference though on those two days and it is happening today as well. MNKD spends hours trading with 4 decimal place bid/ask numbers, on the high volume days and today, the spread between the bid and ask was as much as 3 cents, compared to hundredths of a cent, that is huge, and I think the MMs make money on the difference in the spread. If good news starts coming in and the overall sentiment towards MNKD becomes more positive and the volume picks up on a regular basis, the funny business will diminish and MNKD will actually trade on fundamentals rather than MMs pulling strings.

This is it....
Triple Witching Day. At 3:45, MNKD announces that they are in negotiations with a pharmaceutical company to buy (just) Afrezza for $9.20/share. The market goes wild! The stock price jumps from $.90 to $9.20 instantaneously. Exactly at the same time, a rumor of a bidding war begins.
Crushed are millions and millions of hedge funds, etc that have been shorting this stock endlessly.
Ah, to dream!

Frankly, I'd be happy to see it close above $1 today and crush half a million shorts! $1 may be. Crush half a million shorts may not be as you need some big news which is normally released before market open or after the close. So, you may be only 50% happy.

As soon as it hit a $1, they threw up 150,000 shares on the ask, I'm sure someone is dying to sell 150K shares at $1 before the conference next week, NOT, but these guys don't care how obvious it looks, nobody that can do anything about it is watching.
