Thanks for playing VDEX, but it looks like MNKD and MC have more cards up their sleeves. Shall we say 3 more months before the new marketing campaign bears fruit? Let's see how this works out. From my readings on diabetes forums, many PWDs don't care much about injections (the needles are really thin). I've never read any comments from PWDs that indicated they enjoyed the injections either. Regardless, I think the main "point" was about timing insulin administration with food.
The thing I really liked about the video was that it helps non-PWDs better understand what PWDs live with and would make an excellent conversation starter (not that PWDs necessarily want to talk about their diabetes with non-PWDs). I do think that video will "stick" with people.

Taking insulin is a chore and nobody wakes up in the morning thinking "Yay I get to take insulin".

MNKD still need to convince doctors/patients that Afrezza works before talking about additional benefit such as no injections.

Surely no one wants to take insulin but "equally" cannot possibly be the correct word to use when comparing injecting to inhaling.

I love the commercial but you still have to retain the people once they start it. Maybe your Afrezza script should come with six sessions at Vdex until you learn the best CGM and dosing approach and can take the training wheels off.

The pain is in having deal with insulin - the rest is putting lipstick on a pig. Everyone has preferred ways of dealing with the pig; some people swear by pumps, personally I like pens, I know people only moved of animal insulin because it was discontinued. People make their peace with their approach and are reluctant to chang. I suppose you dance with the pig what brung you.

But if inhaled insulin was invented first who would be using a needle?

But if inhaled insulin was invented first who would be using a needle? People who couldn't use inhaled insulin? People would be asking why you wanted to inject and endos would be fussing about the idea of injecting insulin. There is a lot of reluctance to make a lifestyle change even if it is compelling. I suspect you see this in your work a lot!

The cards that I'm referring to is the new marketing campaign. Once again, MC has surprised us with some good news. It seems that the wheels are turning in the background. The 3 months is the time frame that alot of us thought it would take to see an impact on the scripts, when the initial afrezza food ad was ran at the beginning of the year. The new marketing campaign looks good. I'm skeptical however that we'll see a corresponding jump in scripts in 3 months. We thought the tv ad would do that (we were told by MC to expect that) and it had seemingly no impact. It'll be easy enough to determine when the time comes, in November we'll all be paying attention to the script numbers. I hope to eat a big helping of crow (with a puff of Afrezza) and am pulling for you to be right and me wrong on this prediction.

Saturation advertising you dont have to hit a home run just remind them there is a home to go to. The medical community started talking with the last campaign remind them were not going anywhere.

I think there are honest, sincere ways of stating the facts without resorting to complete sarcasm. They’re afraid to scare off investors with the truth, so they sugar coat everything. But your examples don’t pass the sincerity test. If they came out and stated what issues they’ve had with getting articles published or getting the ADA to play ball, they may find that investors appreciate the facts and the truth. Either way, sales are what they are, so at least share the facts and stop treating us like we’re gullible lemmings and believe some of the sugar coated responses we get. Taking credit for getting stat study language added to the ADA SOC is one example of blowing smoke when they could easily state the truth and probably get credit for their honesty. Who didn’t see through the bs when MC made that statement? If you are doing due diligence on Mannkind the red flags are going to be a huge miss on the earnings estimate followed by no estimate at all (management thinks sales are going to be so poor they are not going to talk about them), an inexperienced CEO, and under a year's cash with a negative cashflow. That said; I think that from here we go up from here as $1.05 looks like a base (famous last words). The risk is that the shorts try to push it under $1 and hold it there to force a reverse split. I want to see a bit more distance from $1, but it's beginning to look like an entry point for a trade. I want to wait until the price is reliably over $3 to see it as an investment. good call
