Scripts cannot reach high level because only handful of doctors prescribed Afrezza. That handful cannot work overtime to do more. IMO those doctors are believers in Afrezza and may be investors as well. I think they are from time when Sanofi was in charge. Since then I don't see ANY sales force working because no new highs hit nor any 'previous visited' doctors continue to prescribe. They don't exist. Is it for that 'effort' M+M pays 10 mil per month? Count carbs or not, expensive or not but people will try Afrezza when someone removes a lid from letting them know. Any guesses who hold it?

Naw, you can't expect to see any increases at all for a month or so. The new sales team just created their sales plans this week. They haven't even got started yet. Ha!, you probably can't see that because of those dark glasses you're wearing JK (Just Kidding)

Right, but that should also be addressed as part of the plans. I know, nobody will believe until scripts start to improve. And, when that happens, it will be slow at first. 300 is the first baby-step. And, by sometime in 2018, we'll be taking two steps at a time. That's MY plan, anyway. There are just too many good things going on for the future for it not to happen. The future's so bright, maybe I'll have to put my shades back on. The financial end is the problem and that will just have to work out for the next year or so somehow. And, hopefully, that will work out without too much dilution. As the good news comes rolling in over the next Months and Quarters, SP will improve, and then, a little dilution will be more efficient and won't hurt as bad. Hey, these new glasses really help. I highly recommend them.

We better hope the sales team is out there swamping the docs with free Afrezza samples.
And, MannKind still needs to get the commercial running to get potential patients looking for those samples.
So... with that rosy outlook we are still looking at 1 month + before an increase in scripts follow.

There are two things working against rapid script increase:
1. Physicians are a conservative bunch. I once brought a new product to market and the physicians were positively clamoring for it. When it became available they each treated ONE patient and stopped. This was a product that did not show efficacy for about twelve weeks so they waited, and waited, and waited some more. When they saw that it worked on the first patient, they tried number two and waited some more. After both patients showed good results, they became regular customers because they had good experience treating their patients, but there was six months of almost no activity until that happened. A stellar clinical trial will get you the first patient or two, but those early patients had better have good results if you want the doctor to become an adopter.
2. Like I said, physicians are a conservative bunch. Normally they will try a new medication on a brand new patient or an old patient that is having compliance problems. Every physician knows that writing the script is easy, but getting the patients to actually take their medications properly is a struggle. If a diabetic is well-controlled and compliant with their medication regimen, there are not very many physicians that will volunteer to switch those patients without a very good reason, and company funded studies are not that good reason. If the physician sees better glucose control in those new patients and the old patients with compliance issues that they put on Afrezza, that might impress them enough to start swapping patients. That is not going to happen soon; I am thinking six to twelve months is more likely before scripts increase in a meaningful way.
I know that nobody wants to think in terms of another six to twelve month runway before things turn around, but that is reality in a highly competitive market.
