I heard from my friend and this is what he found out: He called Mannkind yesterday to ask for an agenda for tomorrows meeting and if there was any presentation materials. They told him there is no agenda and that Matt & Mike would not be at the meeting. They will be attending "remotely"[/ That sure doesnt show much respect to shareholders. quote]

meeting is merely a legal formality, RS is a done deal was a YES OUTCOME the moment the RS was presented behind closed doors. what most here fail to recognize is- its not about preserving shareholder value at all - its about keeping mnkd alive so those feeding off the company- matt&cronies, the mann family hiers, a few dark pools, some HF's can continue to bleed this turnip until all revenue is gone. Then the major players leave including all Bod/matt an shareholders are left totally in the dust of a failed company. Poorer but hopefully wiser. thk me later for the clarity I bring to a room full of darkness.

Fudsters usually fail at logic which might work on novice and new investors.
Heirs and management are shareholders. They have more incentive to make it work than pig has to make it fail.

This reverse split is about keeping the company alive long enough to get the label changed and sell afrezza. I know I am a broken record. We have visual proof afrezza works better to control post meal blood glucose levels. we have the continuous glucose monitors. Proof is not enough? Do you see how high the blood glucose levels go for people on subq fast acting insulins? Do you see how low they can go in their sleep? We have proof. Perhaps the physicians liked it when they were in control and people would come in with their blood glucose reading written down. So easy to blame the patient for their blood glucose levels. The blood glucose levels are not the fault of the subq insulin? It is my conjecture that, collusion is involved with the demise of the stock price. Must kill afrezza and mannkind before the truth be known.
The physicians? inexplicable.

Have they always made the best decisions? No. But, I've never gotten the impression that they are "feeding off of the company," without any regard to shareholder interests. Like the majority of us on this board, they believe in Afrezza, and in providing diabetics with another treatment option that works. Even assuming that your characterization of the Mannkind team is correct, I believe your argument fails for the reason already stated. The heirs and management are shareholders too. I'm quite certain they don't consider failure an option.

wildpig your logic only works when you make incorrect assumptions, as is frequently done at Seeking Alpha, then argue against the truth. You will have better luck there than here. Goodbye piggy

I have struggled with this for a long time and I don't know if we will ever know the full truth about Big Pharma "collusion" with Afrezza. Is there some type of it? Maybe. But I personally don't believe Novo's management is in communication with financial institutions on bleeding out the company and killing Afrezza. The truth is nobody wants to touch this drug right now as far as partnerships. Where are the regional partnerships that were first discussed over a year ago? Why is MNKD not forming some/any type of partnership with a mid-level pharma (Novatris, Takeda, Bayer) to add this innovative diabetes drug to their portfolio in return for much needed cash? MNKD seems to be on their own right now and we are entrusting them to turn it around and gain traction. It's basically a coin flip at this point.

Matt opens the meeting; requests whether we have a quorum; if so, requests the vote count for item 1; if item 1 approved, meeting adjourned (there will be no decision as to the actual RS number at the meeting - that's not what the vote is for). I'm not sure how that will take longer than 10 to 15 minutes. I BEG TO DISAGREE ! If you read the Sec Scedule 14A for the special MEETING! March 1 9:00 am local Time . Item #3 To transact any other buisness that may be properly brought before the MEETING or any continuation, adjourment or postponement therof. Sounds to me they will be taking Questions! promann , I don't have an issue with your disagreement. Are you aware of the SPECIFIC rules governing how business is PROPERLY brought before a SPECIAL MEETING? This won't be a Q&A session as you may have experienced at an ASM. This is a perfunctory meeting with the sole purpose to count and record the votes in accordance with the bylaws. Open meeting - record vote count - announce results (and the "results" do not include the specific split that the board will later determine if they decide to/must go through with the RS) - adjourn.
