I know stories like this one should make me happy, but they actually make me sad.
Sad that an innovation like Afrezza which could already be changing the lives of millions of PWD with similar stories to hope4mannkind - is instead going to be killed and sold off to someone who will inevitably bury it for good. Sad that there are scores of people out there in both finance and health fields that have orchestrated this attack in taking down the company. The MNKD bashers that spend their days spewing lies and hatred, anything to pad their own wallets. Sad that doctors are playing along with the game, and ultimately THEY are the ones that are letting their patients down. Patients that come to them seeking medical advice and treatment to improve their health and lifestyle.
And of course last but not least, Sad that nobody seems to care

Dr. Honeycutt only treats adults. I am fully aware of the "off label". I also called Mannkind and pleaded for them to continue with the pediatric trials. I also volunteered my time to set up one in my area for them, granted my son would be one of the participants. He is an athlete also so the other meds are not so good during his sports activities. I can tell you what is though. I need to get a meeting with POTUS, the medical "professionals" that I have already talked with are something else.

I know of a place in California, where an adolescent got an off label prescription.

Yes, someone with an accent called me back and we talked for about a half hour. I told him what had happened and pretty much begged him to continue where Sanofi left off, lack of money was pretty much the answer that I got, thats when I volunteered my time.

But in some states, you can get prescriptions from nurse practitioner or physician assistant. Some of them may be more open minded than physicians in terms of prescribing per patients' need. I understand Mannkind has been training quite a few nurse educators nationwide. Perhaps you can check with some Mannkind reps to get connected with your local rep and then inquire if they have any trained nurse practitioner or physician assistant in your area that have prescription authority. Can't remember who it is, but I recall one of the current Afrezza users who posts frequently on social media got his/her prescription from a nurse practitioner.

I know of a place in California, where an adolescent got an off label prescription. Many doctors in CA write off-label. VDex would be my first pick because Afrezza is their specialty.

The afrezza website has a list of doctors (maybe in your area). But this does not guarantee they will prescribe afrezza. Many posts on here have shared struggles with doctors in that list. I would go straight to mike castagna and an afrezza rep. Good luck.

No representatives of any kind have called on me or anyone here for several months. The company is mute as best I can tell. I guess they are focusing on other territories. If you follow Mike on here and DM him with your location he will get someone out. Or @castagna2011 on Twitter.

I love reading stories like this and have always been a "true believer". But I'm sick that my $ loss in MNKD is nearly complete. I don't believe that any miracle can turn around the death spiral. At this point I'd be happy if they announced that they've given up and will now offer free Afrezza for anyone who has an Rx. This in my opinion is the frustrating aspect of being an investor in Mannkind. We have the most incredible insulin product ever created and yet there is no return for investors that believe in the science. Al Mann was a visionary. It is so sad that those who are responsible can't market his amazing product. To those who have been here long enough to understand its just inconceivable that this isn't a success. The science is what motivates long term investors. Unfortunately the Matt and Mike show has not been able to capitalize it. And for all of you rah rah only see the bright side people, I'm just calling it the way I see it.

If you get a meeting with POTUS take Bernie Sanders and Elijah Cummings with you. They have already met with Trump over the rigging of insulin prices by Big Pharma. Bernie has already heard of afrezza. Take Matt and Mike with you and have them cut a national deal on afrezza where it could be nationally subsidized and directly sold to the public for say $20 a box through our existing National Healthcare System which is currently only serving Veterans. No additional insurance needed. That would put a smile on many PWDs and Bernie Sanders. While writing directly to POTUS also contact your Senators and Congressman. Sander's has already bought a great deal of attention to Big Pharma insulin manufacturers and price fixing.
