Does anyone know for sure that Ray left MNKD? I'm not. I believe it would be a conflict of interest should Ray work for both companies. Thus I believe he left. And seeing that his expertise - at least appears to me to be - is in oncology, perhaps GT Bio is buying our oncology related drug (and perhaps some oncology related patents I'm not aware we have) and MNKD threw in Ray as a package deal. 😳

The silence from mnkd is puzzling. Maybe all the IR people and PR left also.

They promised us two investor updates in September.
If they announce that Ray left, will that count as the first?

... IMHO, the only way TS might be sold would be if a new owner purchased the company outright. Management, under all three CEO's, has always been clear that the company is going to build its value first. Commercialization has been a struggle but the company exists because it owns the TS goose that has the potential to lay countless golden eggs. Ray Urbanski's departure may simply be because his primary expertise is with only one of the TS applications, oncology, and he's a better fit with an oncology driven company. If you don't have runway you cannot build value, right now that runway is getting shorter which is why Deerfield have Greenhill beating the bushes. If the way to get that runway is by selling TS then will insist Deerfield and that is what will happen. Deerfield are out to recover their money, not to save Mannkind. As for Ray Urbanski - he would not have made that move if he thought Mannkind had a great future in the short to middle future. Large quantities of cash beat fit any day.

Deerfield is also being closely watched by Big Brother. At the end of the day, while all the other BPs keep being in the headlines for fraud and corruption (like Deerfield was recently)—MannKind is an American company that was founded by a WWII veteran and they are the most ethical Pharma company on the planet, and one of the very few that actually care about helping people. They have zero FDA warning letters, zero DoJ encounters, etc... I cannot say the same about Deerfield. Too many lives need help. I don't see them selling away Technosphere to please Deerfield.

Too many lives need help. I don't see them selling away Technosphere to please Deerfield. Afrezza is saving lives today which is more important than possibly saving lives in the future with some other TS medicine. The safest way to keep Afrezza alive is to keep MNKD alive which means getting money in any way possible.

Big Brother is irrelevant in this case since Deerfield has behaved correctly so they have no risk there. A lender has no obligation to keep a borrower in business and as it is Deerfield have already delayed action which they did not need to do. I don't see Mannkind having a choice as at this point Mannkind's continued existence is at Deerfield's forbearance. If Deerfield cease their waiver then Mannkind is bankrupt. If Greenhill find a buyer for TS that Deerfield is happy with and Mannkind says no then Deerfield simply ceases to roll over the waiver, Mannkind goes bust, and the assets fall to Deerfield who promptly sell to the Greenhill bidder. So Mannkind could say no and commit suicide, or say yes and get funding - not a hard choice.

Urbanski was very enthusiastic during last earnings call. I would be surprised if he left of his own accord.

No Ray was much better on the last call than I have ever heard him. Just saying...

No Ray was much better on the last call than I have ever heard him. Just saying... I wonder whether Ray was already interviewing elsewhere / looking for an exit from Mannkind, or even had a job offer from GT Biopharma Inc (OXIS) at that time? Was that the reason for his energy / high spirits? I mean, he must have had some inkling as to his future plans as of the last conference call date (August 7). I guess what people say is true, silence from Mannkind just means stuff is happening behind the scenes.

All this talk about the need to raise money or cut expenses. Wasn't it just this past week that many here were optimistic about a deal that would propel Mannkind into the future? All of a sudden folks are talking about selling Technosphere, avoiding bankruptcy etc. My what a fickle crowd.

Also I believe I remember that only Mike is speaking on the up coming CC.

Maybe Ray went there as part of some sort of merger/acquisition? They are pretty small at under a $4 million market cap.. To expand Technosphere oncology?
