My basis for referring to them pulling sales reps from the field (or as I put it in my post 'withdrawing' them) came from what I heard at 5min 49 seconds into the conference call this week. I may have misheard or misunderstood what he meant but he says something which sounds like ' with this label update we will be pulling our salesforce together to make sure we focus them and get execution happening here in Q4 as we close out the year and get ready for January of 18'. Its possible the word sounds like 'pooling' rather than 'pulling' but my understanding of what he meant was that they would be pulling the reps out of the field for a short re-training in order to get them on message on the newly permitted sales lines based on the label. However you are correct he does not strictly say they are coming off the sales field. However thats my belief of what it would entail, practically, if one is seeking to get the reps together and focus them on the new material and new messages we can put out. I suppose its possible they could maintain full sales coverage and get the reps all together for training at the same time but to me that sounds less likely than that they will take them to some conference centre and train them for a couple of days 'out of field' and equip them with new sales materials, which may lead to a small dip in scripts (but no bad thing at all, and a buying opportunity, I agree). At 13mins 11 seconds into the call in the Q and A there is an exchange in which Mike says (at 13.23) in response to a question about the sales force " we are pulling in the sales force early this week and next week to make sure they are fully comfortable with understanding the dosing dynamics ..." and he then refers to sales materials. Its a great answer to the question and shows perhaps we may actually see a slight dip for next week and the week after if the 'pulling' he refers to is spanning this and next week. The second quote at 13.23 is much clearer that he uses the expression 'pulling in our salesforce'. I think you're spot on op2778. |
