The shorts are definitely showing back up on this board as well. No good deed goes unpunished. Mike was brought into the Puero Rico discussion the Friday after the Hurricane. This was way before anyone was talking about it. If you check my posts you will see I started a thread that day and Mike got involved soon after. Mike worked with multiple parties as I worked with my Senators office who coordinated with Rubio's office who were coordinating the efforts out of Florida with FEMA. There was a tremendous amount of work which went into PR. For you to say "too little too late in the PR game. Many will ask, "why did you wait so long" I find personally insulting, knowing exactly what went on trying to get Washington's attention before they realized what a huge mess it was. That Friday there was almost ZERO news coverage on the huge mess. Mike went above and beyond and made a decision to make the donation to move in parallel while the FEMA machine was getting rolling. No one could have done better than Mike did. I think you should make a public apology to him. Read more: mnkd.proboards.com/thread/8874/donates-afrezza-support-people-diabetes?page=2#ixzz4vNm6wePF

Mydog...I’m really sure Mike thought about that. I mean...come on! I think we all get at this point that no body needs to tell Mike how to run his business.

I going to say what everyone else is thinking. While this is a great humanity effort to get insulin to those who need it, we hope they like it enough to get it prescribed. Hopefully this will lead to diabetics in PR talking about how great iAfrezza is and tells there doctors they want it. Hopefully we have reps over there visiting every doctors offfice and hospital with Afrezza in hand to give out. PR may lead the way who knows it’s a big island with probably a million diabetics.

The relief effort brings up an issue we've discussed before. I know that sponsoring a trial to provide data for a label change on refrigeration/storage requirements is not high on the CEO's "to-do" trial list, but if MannKind plans global distribution of Afrezza, they'd better get on it before going international, IMO.

Anyone know who deleted my post about Mike? And it looks like sayhey’s post is gone also.... he put a lot more thought in to his than I did mine. It seems odd they are missing.

I'm guessing in the midst of living conditions down there now, patients aren't going to be taking multiple finger stick BG readings after meals* and figuring out that they have better post prandial control. Perhaps best to view this as humanitarian rather than an exercise in marketing. * assuming they have meals

Regarding Md's in Puerto Rico , I don't know if any are currently trained in afrezza since I am assuming , no reps there .
What I can assure you is that there are several Endocrinologists that are excellent , some trained in top ten schools here in the Us . The ones i know are practicing here in the Us , but Md's in Puerto Rico in general especially those with a subspecialty , are quick and eager to catch up on new technology and willing to give a try .
So hopefully with help of the two Docs mentioned in the article , they will find a few endocrinologists that rapidly can learn how to use Affreza.
Kudos to Mannkind , they should have sent it earlier
Too many diabetics suffering form lack of insulin that needs to be refrigerated ,

We need to "hit the iron while it's hot". I haven't seen any PR on this other then the typical business sites. The "story" is there, I just hope Mannkind's Public Relations department is working on it. Press release should have been orchestrated with various news sources, "helping others help themselves" what a fantastic opportunity.

Bosephe;
You are right on , a lot of posts re - "international experience to be gained "
For everyone reading the posts .
Puerto Rico is a US Commonwealth , and everyone is an american citizen , regarding meds , Puerto Rico therefore is under FDA regulations just like any state in The U.S.
so I applaud the humanitarian aid , but this is not international , its just like the USA, hopefully Affreza will help the diabetics there , as only 10 % or less of the island has power , so hard to refrigerate injectable insulins .

Will the donated Afrezza actually be able to given to someone in need if it is past/beyond the FDA's refrigeration requirements timeline?
I know it could be handed to someone, but would they be allowed to by the FDA?

If your question is whether MannKind could ship expired product to PR... then no.

They are back up - minus the part by another poster that was considered a personal attack. Sorry your post was caught in the crossfire.

I was hacking the Putin/Trump 2020 election and thought what the hell and erased a few posts here while I was at it.
