Its probably the 5th - the time is now right for afrezza. The technology to showcase it's benefit has finally arrived.
Prior to technology advances of the CGM and Cloud Diabetes the benefits of afrezza were clearly not appreciated. As CGMs become more widely used more T2s will become meal time BG aware. Today, most T2s are not even aware they are diabetic and the ones that do don't test after meals. Going 180+ after meals is routine.
Give them the IWatch or M&M CGM and things change, especially with performance based insurance. How many self-insured company's are looking to reduce costs? We know atleast Aetna itself is as it recently did the deal with Apple.

promann, I’ve thought about that as well. My guess is that his #1 motivation was maximizing the effect of his purchase on MNKD. He likely sees huge upside whether he buys at $2 on the open market or $6. In the latter case, he was able to anchor a critical funding round with his credibility and spending very little money (his $1M investment was small compared to the $60M raised). So a $1M investment had an oversized impact on MNKD; the company won and he picked up exposure to the upside.

I think 1,3 & 4 are probably accurate. I think Ken has a lot more confidence in Mike than Hakan & Matt so he feels safe with his investment. But he still could have purchased at $0.75 and pushed the SP higher. Is his purchase similar to the Equifax execs. who sold stock just prior to the announcement of the computer hack? In other words, knowledge of inside information but selling/buying in a legal manner?

But it’s still confidence building for the company. Or so many other opportunities on the horizon that they haven’t decided on yet. The future is looking brighter is the only reason to buy IMO.

Looks to me like some real thought went into that Ya, kind of freaks me out....how about you? I see your point.. Kent Kresa KK remember me The Great Dictator....KK XX

My point exactly. He has enough information to know that his $6.00 purchase price is secure without getting caught trading on insider information.

I agree that he thinks it’s a good value based upon the current state of the company. But I believe he’d invest more (or earlier) if it were a financial play, which is why I think it’s more of a strategic play. Not to say he’s not in it to make money

Kersa's timing is probably related to the label approval. I assume even he wanted to be certain the label that will close all pending deals was in place before he goes all in. It also works to move the pps north as it signals "no fear here" so he will win big next week hopefully like the rest of us.

It is also the date that the Knights of the Temper by the King of England were rounded up and slaughtered, Which leads us to 666 described to be the number describing Satan. In your own words 666 is turned upside down or 999. Maybe that is a sign, but my understanding of upside down is something is turned in the opposite direction. Is this a sign those that are not blind, whose heart has not become harden and seek the will of Good day is coming. Just sayin

What’s weird to me is.. why now?. Kent has had plenty of opportunities to purchase at a much lower price. Is this purchase at 6.00 a real investment opportunity or a hand out to help MNKD. I assume Kent believes the earlier but why now? Why didn’t he make a purchase at the 1.00 areas? That’s what’s weird to me. 4 possibilities 1 could not purchase because of inside knowledge. 2 did not have the funds available till now. 3 just now realizes that investing in MNKD is a great opportunity 4 he just wants to help out MNKD financially and is being a good guy. Without the label change, perhaps he felt MNKD stood a very good chance of going under and with it, it stands a very good chance of being successful. I'm pretty sure the underwriters asked for his help.

It is also the date that the Knights of the Temper by the King of England were rounded up and slaughtered. That happened in France, not England. In England the leaders of the order went free until January the following year. Then they were arrested, put on trial, repented, and were released (except for one who didn't repent and was locked up in the Tower of London). Even that trial would not have happened except the Pope put pressure on King Edward II. The members just faded back into society or joined other orders (the Cistercians was a popular choice). This was excellent news for all conspiracy theorists today since they can talk about the underground survival of the Order.

I'm a bit concerned about.
I guess my wife shouldn't go to sleep, in a log cabin, after asking our son to make her some tea?
