Dexcom will already automatically upload data into your EHR if you want it to and the provider (the medical provider is usually the problem) is capable of taking the data. They announced at the J.P. Morgan Healthcare Conference something about it, and the way the CEO said it was as if it was something new. The physician won't have to do anything to retreive it, the CGM data will automatically be sent into the person's EHR.I don't think I would want my CGM data sent to the physicians office. Would you all want that for yourself?

Most likely that's because true EHR are still some way off Today it talks to the endo clinics system and updates their version of the EHR, but not a globally visible EHR. I think EHR may be some way off. The EHR database becomes a high value target and is going to have a lot of people trying to break in.

The way we have designed our EHR database for cloud CGM is with an air gap between PWD info/history and CGM numbers and analysis. I suspect Ondou is doing similar. Our bigger concern is actually with the Dexcom bluetooth. Libre with the NFC offers more security.

In his speech (see link above) the Commissioner of the FDA stated that the data collection needs to transform from collection information the insurers want (ie costs) to scientific/medical information.

In this case, I actually see them converge. Insurance want you out of emergency room and keep your toes and eyes. So do the patients. I am working from the EHR side, BTW.
