Over 32 million on Instagram. Yeah he’s sorta famous. The cult of personality. Sorry. Don’t read People. Don’t watch TMZ. Don’t use Facebook. Only watch local news in the morning. I’m sure my wife and kids know who he is but I am not attracted to celebrities or royalty. We all end up in the same place regardless of our fame or lack of it. But, if many famous PWDs would be attracted to Afrezza, that would be good for them and for us I think. Thats the idea, it’s called influencing and it is something we’ve wanted for years. However, it usually doesn’t happen because famous people organically become attracted to a product (though that would be great), it costs $$ to “earn” those endorsements. Dexcom has Nick Jonas, we have Conor Daly.

Isn't Kanye West a bit bizarre these days? The 2020 Presidential run. Marriage to kardashain breaking up, and threats ..... Pete Davidson dating KK. I do not listen to his type of music. . These days? He’s pretty much bizarre, low class, ghetto all the time. Maybe he can read a chapter from the stylistics, the Temptations, the O’Jays, Lou Rawls…

I do not listen to his type of music. I'm mostly ignorant of Kanye West's music (he's done a lot), but he does have some songs I like. Including those he did with Paul McCartney, and with Estelle (American Boy), and Keri Hilson (a version of Pretty Girl Rock). He's collaborated with a ton of other people, including Elton John. I like some of his solo songs as well, but I can't name those off-hand. West is so prolific that I wouldn't be surprised if you actually do like some songs he wrote the music / lyrics for, or did backing vocals in, without you knowing it. But, yeah, he does seem to have suffered from some personal issues in recent years.

Sorry, this all sets off alarm bells for me, for several reasons, but both are ultimately my own value judgments and not necessarily indicative of anyone else on the board.
One is that I have minimal interest in Kanye West or Kim K. or any K. for that matter. I don't want them in my life, and if Mike does, then to me that's points off for Mike.
Second, the CEO of a previous investment/speculation disaster of mine did stuff that got people's attention (and not in a good way) so I hope this doesn't become a pattern.
Just my .0002.

It was over 4 years ago, so I wouldn't lose sleep over it. And, recall, his relationship wasn't with Kanye ... it was with Dame Dash, who was an Afrezza advocate at the time. The party was thrown by Kanye for Dash, and Mike was in attendance I guess because Dash was a Mannkind sort of guy at the time.

When Mike first met Dash he was pretty taken with him and he went over to his house personally and got him on Afrezza. I remember posting the picture of Mike and Dash on Twitter. Basically just a party, Mike wore his Mannkind shirt🤷♀️

Those were the “good old days” when we had hopes of growing momentum with the help of social media influencing, we wanted folks like Tom Hanks (or any number of less famous diabetics) to help us increase awareness. So the idea of a Dame Dash level influencer was exciting as we hoped it was the start of bigger marketing things. Turns out it was the apex of it, the obvious excuse is lack of marketing $$ though a cynic could name a couple of other reasons.

If MC could have leveraged that friendship, unbelievable momentum IMO. Oh well another lackluster Rx Friday.

You were correct, that relationship did not move the needle. Conor Daly seems like a perfectly fine gentleman but that relationship sadly moves the needle a negligible amount too. I guess the perks are nice (sweet tix to IndyCar races for execs?) though...

A lot of mileage (and whining) out of a 3 year old thread. About time to lock maybe?

I remember when Uma Thurman went on a late night talk show ( I happened to be watching) and pulled out a little pack of e-cigarettes and smoked one on air. The next day the e-cigarettes stocks went through the roof! I always had hope that would happen to us. With the right person…..
Yeah retire Dash.. he had no splash.

I'm locking this thread as it seems to have outlived its usefulness and certainly its relevance.
