Really? If you were a hedge fund you would short before you publish the hit article not two hours afterwards. Why allow readers to get a jump on your devious plot? Absolutely true and have experienced same, was called the day before an article came out on a Chinese fertilizer company a few years back, was told that this particular trading group had someone that they paid to gain information legally (forensic accountant/financial analyst) and that a negative article was going to be published the next day in case I wanted to take a short position. Know all too well how it works, you cannot tell me they aren't coordinated and TD you are correct, the positions are taken well before they're published. well, that is an interesting gig. I have a son in law winning awards at the SEC for his work. This one may deserve a telephone call. looks like it would be easy enough to trace. The news today; the telephone calls made by a national representative charged today. |

$1.29. $1.40 looks doable.

I'm assuming that some of this rise is the result of people realizing MNKD is oversold. Some of it is probably short covering.
Another assumption I have is that the latest drop was a short attack intended to force as large dilution as possible, which would get the shorts off the hook with more new shares (than we would have had with a PPS at 1.6) to cover with.
Then again...how many times have I said to myself: "The PPS is so low, I expect a lot of covering to happen". I guess we'll find out tomorrow where we stood at the end of July.

Tommorows report will be trading thru July 30 and options that were exercised on the 31st. This is a full one week before the correction. The report should tell us if the 7 million additional share increase in the last half June was Deerfield shorting in prep for receiving a payment in July, or if the 7 milliion share increase in the short count was a short taking a new position. |
