Sounds like the needle is moving already and we won't need any help getting there. Yahoooo !!! All aboard ... the train is leaving the station. Will you short people get off the track or you will be run over. Nevermind ... stay there.

Shoot, we missed an opportunity to do a poll on what the 2018 guidance would be. I suspect there would have been some way higher than what it turned out to be.
I'm I remembering correctly that at some point Mike said he would be giving guidance on revenue and timeline for profitability?

CVS deal lets MNKD get patients from BCBS in CA and HI onto Afrezza. Not a big deal and wont move the needle much. Well maybe it can move the scripts needle by a couple hundred per week?

Few questions— I thought I heard mention of ATM use. Anyone note that? Did I completely miss how we fund company in near future? Did they ramble for 57 minutes and line up a shill for the one question to take them to an hour and then disconnect? So many questions left unanswered. They talk a good game and hired someone with a reputation. I’ll give them that. These calls are in a different universe than the painful Matt/Haaken duo.

See, if I go into tomorrow expecting an earnings miss, little guidance, no tangible news/deals/test results, and an after market -20% PPS, anything positive beyond this will be gravy! Welp...

From what Pat said about results from regional advertising, wouldn't you just fire 75% (selected carefully) of the sales force and spend the money on advertising in territories for the remaining sales people? (Areas without advertising would then be uncovered by any sales reps.) From Pat's numbers, sales would rocket!
What Pat reported was what I wanted to hear! How to blow the top off! They found out! Now what.

With respect to Mike's comment about having a signed term sheet and hoping to have another soon, does anybody have experience regarding how long it takes to go from having a signed term sheet to having a finalized deal?

I have listened to a lot of these calls for a lot of years and IMO this was the best I have heard. I think today marks a turning point for the company.
The biggest news I heard on the call was they found the 60+ studies which Al Mann did and Dr. Kendall not only read them but is putting a plan together to release them. That is huge.
While he did not say it I suspect these studies had a great deal to do with why Dr. Kendall came to MNKD. Al left no stone un-turned and concluded afrezza should be the standard of care for all T2s from the first day they are diagnosed.

I guess Castagna is embracing the emotional status of many here - cautious optimism: While Pat talked of accelerating script growth, Mike's net revenue projection of 25-30 million for 2018 represents little or no growth. Maybe the result of being stung by barely meeting his 2H17 projections (even with the revenue "adjustment") and also wisely leaving enough room to raise estimates in future CCs. Seems to me this will be better for the pps than giving more aggressive projections and missing them. Much better to beat than barely meet financial targets.

I was unable to listen in due to work. I'm wondering, were they any analysts asking questions at the end? If so, which ones? Was anyone (Maxim?) throwing softballs in the possible hope of handling a future round of financing?

Thanks, Sayhey, for putting the spotlight on another big positive from the conference call. Dr. Kendall stated that we will now address the other 80% (not MDI) of diabetics in the US!

I don't see it that way, as an emotional play. I think reality has set in, Mike has learned a lot, and now with Dr. Kendall he has the biggest player in the community on his team saying afrezza should be the standard of care. He now has the foundation laid but this is going to take 2 years for afrezza to be positioned as a super blockbuster. 2018 is going to be a busy year for Mike as BP after BP will be wanting to talk. As Mike said on the call he will need to weigh doing a deal with a BP or going it alone and unless its a drop dead deal he is now in a position to go it alone. No one but MNKD has afrezza and no one has anything in their pipelines to even come close.

Could be wrong but thought I heard Mike say they have two term sheets for international deals, one of which will likely be announced in the first half of 2018. Hopefully before May calls Also that upfront or milestone payments are included which he would know if he has term sheets in hand. For those who aren't familiar, a term sheet is simply a brief outline of a deal agreed to by both parties to use to negotiate final details. There's no rule-of-thumb on how long it might take to go from term sheet to contract. It could be days, weeks or months. Regardless, this was good news.

In my field it usually doesn't take more than a few weeks... but I've never done deals with a public company that were significant enough to require BoD approval.
