Hello Crew: I attended the ASM and met everyone. I'm happy to give my impression but it's only that, my opinion. Others can write theirs if they wish.
I arrived 30 minutes prior to the start to circulate throughout the offices making it a point to meet as many board members and MNKD employees as possible in that 30 minute span; from senior management to support staff. I repeatedly asked these questions of all I met: 1). How do you like working here?, 2). How is morale? 3). How is the energy level here. 4). Do you feel good about the future of MNKD, Afrezza, and the plan in place to ensure the future of success of Afrezza? Understand this was rapid as I moved quickly. (in most cases).
What I found was was extraordinary. Every single employee I met was high energy, engaging, great eye contact, confident, (but not overly so), and willing to talk with me as long as I wished. I was particularly impressed with the director of sales and yay for that because that was a big concern of mine, and can tell you that I feel much better now knowing we have that covered. He is really good at what he does and yeah, script counts are bad, but that will change with time, of this I'm sure of now. I also was impressed with Michael C and Dr. David Kendall.
Nothing of note we didn't already know happened at the otherwise routine meeting. I didn't go there for the meeting which I knew would be somewhat routine. I attended to finally meet these people and look them in eye. I mean, what can one say when we're pulling down 500 scripts a week for months now? The message I got was stay the course, we have a plan, (which was laid out in pretty good detail), and management is implementing it. I was satisfied with this and willing to hold and wait for however long it takes because I strongly suspect MNKD has got the golden goose and they know it, especially Kendall, who went on record saying Afrezza will become the new standard treatment of care for new T2's globally, and stated that very forcefully. That really impressed me and I believe the guy as I did of everyone else I met there, and as mentioned, met a lot of peeps yesterday morning. I never once noticed any kind of misleading statements, trying to hide anything, not being forthcoming, shiftiness, or any kind of deception.
One thing I did notice about the make-up of the board is it's all male, and all Anglo, from what I could gather. It might be wise to be more inclusive and bring some diversity to the board is all I'm saying here.
I know it's frustrating in wanting more details, but the best way to get that, is to attend so you can form your own analysis on this investment. I plan to attend again next year.
My conclusion is simply this: Add more shares if you can. This company is going to great places and new heights, of that I'm sure of. I was impressed by all I met and feel strongly the company is dedicated to its future success and they will get there.
