Hello JDRF Advocate,
If you or your loved one has type 1 diabetes (T1D), are actively engaged in JDRF’s mission, and will be between the ages of 4 and 17 on July 8 – 10, 2019, then we invite you to apply to become a JDRF 2019 Children’s Congress Delegate today!
JDRF Children’s Congress by the Numbers:
230+ – Number of Congressional offices we expect to meet with during the event
160+ – Number of Delegates who will attend JDRF 2019 Children’s Congress
50 – Number of states that will be represented at the event
33 – Number of days left to apply for Children’s Congress
4 – Weekends left between now and the November 30 application deadline
3 – Number of days JDRF 2019 Children’s Congress Delegates will spend in Washington, D.C.
What Is JDRF Children’s Congress All About?
Since the inaugural event in 1999, JDRF Children’s Congress has been essential to securing continued Federal Government funding for T1D research, as well as raising awareness about the daily burden experienced by Americans impacted by this autoimmune disease. As participants in JDRF 2019 Children’s Congress, Delegates will have a unique and empowering opportunity to help our Federal lawmakers understand the financial, medical, and emotional costs of the disease, and how research will one day help us create a world without T1D.
The work the Delegates will do on Capitol Hill is critically important, but we also make time for life-changing experiences such as: meeting our T1D Role Models during the Town Hall, developing leadership skills, and making lifelong T1D friends. Delegates leave Children’s Congress as empowered JDRF Advocates who are motivated to use their voices for the change that will improve not only their lives, but the lives of all people impacted by T1D.
Please take time to learn more about JDRF 2019 Children’s Congress, and if you or your loved one is eligible, please apply today! If you are not eligible for JDRF 2019 Children’s Congress, but you know of someone who would make a great Delegate, please forward along this email and invite them to apply. We look forward to making JDRF 2019 Children’s Congress our most memorable event yet – join us!
Thank you,
Cynthia Rice
